Description:
I am a tree.
I am standing in this three-way intersection.
I have been looking at the traveler for 100 years.
The traveler takes a rest at my feet.
The traveler will come also today.
Hey, it came.
"Doctor. It is a three-way intersection. "
"Ah i understands. "
"Which road?"
"What a large tree this is! Boy... You must become big like this feelings, too. "
"Yes,I has understood... "
"............"
"Doctor. My stomach is hungry. I want to go to the Sushi Bar early. ..And, which is it..?"
"left! "
"left! "
"Yes,The sushi bar is the left. "
"Is it true?"
"So. I have confirmed it at home."
"How?"
"Picture book. "
"Picture book?"
"So. "
"What picture book is it?"
"Animals In The World"
".......Ack!....... jeez!"
"What? What did you say now?"
"No, It is a soliloquy. "
"Boy. What do you eat in the sushi bar?"
"Sandwich. "
"Sandwich? There might not be these kind of things in the sushi bar. "
"Dr. The traveler comes to want to eat the sandwich. Then, I place the MAGURO Tuna between bread. " :(
"damn...I want also to eat it.... "
"What? What did Doctor say now?"
"No, It is a soliloquy. "
"Dr. Now let's go to a left road. "
"Ah........Is it not the left. right? right ???"
"Dr. Ah .......my sushi bar, is the right or the left?"
I am a tree.
It has listened to a lot of travelers' conversations up to now.
It meets a variegated traveler here.
Exactly, three-way intersection of life.

Your percussion is always extremely enjoyable, especially
in this Sushi piece. So delightful.

This is great. &mdash 08/22/05 - 12:22:16 PM
I'm not really sure what is possible in garageband (i'm a
ProTools man, myself) but whilst the percussion COULD
sound interesting the fact that it lacks any real adjustment of
the timing or velocity means it posesses no 'human' quality
and ultimately, for me at least, becomes tedious. Just a
complicated piece of drum programming - but no subtlety.
Otherwise this is a really interesting piece :-) [ Reply to This ]

Tadashi-san,
I don't really understand how you do all that, but it must
take many hours of work. You are a master GBer Tadashi
and I bow to your skills!
A wonderful piece of music only you could do.
Thanks,

excellent writing &mdash 08/22/05 - 08:55:11 PM
As a composition, this piece is wonderful; there are many
imaginative twists and turns. Your choice of instruments
and the balance between them is impeccable. The
recording quality is excellent.
However, the PERFOMANCE of this track is too perfect,
with a "mechanical" result. It moves along briskly without
any breathing-room. There is not much "soul" here, sorry!
It just doesn't sound natural; it seems like the instruments
are synthesized.
ARE they, in fact? If so, perhaps the timings could be
adjusted to sound more natural. If these are real
instruments, I would suggest loosening up the feel and
timings slightly.
You have a great deal of talent in your musical ideas, and I
will check out your other tunes. [ Reply to This ]
excellent writing &mdash 08/22/05 - 10:52:00 PM
Reading over my above comments again, they sound too harsh to me. I
apologize for this -- I did not mean for them to be quite that way.
I do like this piece, overall; there are many wonderful moments in the
composition...it is only the performance which sounds just a little
"programmed", to my ears anyway.
Obviously, many people like this piece as it is, and so need to take this into
consideration and I do wish to add my congratulations. [ Reply to This ]

Amazing, yes &mdash 08/24/05 - 01:05:07 PM
...this is very well done piece, but I agree with
Cameron... it is almost TOO well done. That is, it
sounds too precise and computer-like. It just needs
a little something...maybe in the treatment of the
sounds, maybe a little mistake here or there... just
something to humanize it a little more. Besides that,
it blew me away. [ Reply to This ]

I love the drums on this piece. Are they software drums or
live drums? If they are software drums would you mind
sharing what program(s) you are using. I've been toying
around putting drums to my songs but not sure if I should
use live or computer ones. I also love the bass and piano
parts. Very well done! [ Reply to This ]

The Narrow Road... &mdash 08/28/05 - 11:04:36 AM
...to the Deep North...
Who knew there was a sushi bar along the way?
While I appreciate my compatriots comments about the
perfection of the piece, I think this realm of music (jazz/
rock/fusion) is one in which perfection is one of the
desiderata... It doesn't seem so different from other things
I've heard in the genre... Whether made by human hands
on drumsticks or human hands on a keyboard, it does end
up pretty tight and perfect...
This brings me back to Billy Cobham stuff of the
Seventies...
I think your programming talents are startling... I just
learned to program a 3/4 beat...painfully...and thought I
was doing well...this is quite musical to my ears...it's
interesting...
As I have written before, I always enjoy your descriptions.
You always bring something different and worthwhile to
the conversation, Tadashi...something off the beaten path,
as we say in my part of the world...

Your work just amazing. Top scores 10s.
You continue the kind of fusion music that Stomu Yamashta and GO started back in 1976.
Great playing,Tadashi. I am smiling ear to ear:)
I read that Stomu stopped playing music and entered a Buddhist monastery to study religion. Is he still part of the music scene in your country?
