Lyrics
i woke to find my peace of mind
was only in my dreams
i tried to pray but fell away
as crazy as it seems

i've walked around on hallowed ground
to find a place to rest
and when i can i lend a hand
so have i passed your test

sometime i'd like to talk to god to try and see his face
'cause i wonder if he sees his face in mine
and i hope that i am here to make the world a better place
but i guess we'll know in time
i guess we'll know....

i went to sleep for talk is cheap
and th TV takes it's toll
i heard a sound and looked around
examining my soul

a poet's dream is never what it seems
for the words they twist and turn
but for the sake of every heart they break
what's given in return...

somtime's i like to talk to god
have a drink and walk with god
i hope one day to speak to god and look him in the face
oh and that will be the time
i find out if he sees his face in mine

I thought
of that tall german chick... blonde hair short crew cut
cant think of her name anyway nice job the stops were
effective. and her voice a nice change for me dealing with
rockers all the time.

I thought
i believe the tall blonde U R thinking of is Brigitte Nielsen. I was thinking
about her when we were tracking this tune. I guess it shows.

Talk about transforming a song
This piece merely has echoes of the original, but stands
on its own as a powerful, lovely and inspirational tune.
Exceptionally gorgeous strings here, Ray, the guitars and
mandolins. Very strong vocal from Tiffany.

Nice to hear more from you
This sounds great. Wonderful arrangement and the vocals
are tremendous. Beautiful. Somehow, this song seems to be
slipping through the cracks here at MJ. This is a real
plaesure to listen to. I hope more people hear it.

sometimes. Glad you enjoyed though.

Very, Very Good
Wonderful singing and excellent melody.
Arrangement-wise I was wondering what this might sound
like if the instruments dropped out during at least part of the
chorus and as I write this and reach the end of the song, I
think the song might be more effective with more subtle
instrumentation behind Tiffany for the entire song.

Absolutely Fantastic
This is sooo well done. Guitars and mando are "spot" on and
to have such a passionate vocal like that is almost
overwhelming. There were times I felt a shiver run up my
spine- that tells me how powerful a song you have here.

Powerful...
This is a terrific musical performance, full of subtle textures
and techniques, excellently executed with solid
musicianship.

Tiffany's wonderful, powerful voice sometimes crowds the
mix a bit much for my ears, but all in all, a very nice
production.

It deserves better ratings than it has gotten, so I'm giving
you mine.

Enjoy this
Nice acoustical feeling. Very nice fingerpicking here that
seems well crafted. Nice production! Like the brakeup of the
flow of the fingerpicking and putting in that staccato
plucking on the guitar and the lead guitar work is delicately
done. Nice Singings sound pleasant.

A pro sound!

Spot is the result of Stephen Hadley writing a song, grabbing whoever's hanging around his office with a little extra time between classes, record them singing and/or playing, then taking the tracks over to Ray Kainz's studio, and getting all hopped... [see more]
