Eerie... &mdash 08/24/05 - 03:47:23 PM
This is very dark and eerie... my kind of flavor. I bet some
ambient female vocals would make this even more "ghostly".
Is that downward arpeggio a GarageBand loop? It'd be nice
to hear it transposed or varied slightly so it doesn't get too
repetitive, which it does a bit here. Actually, I'd like to hear
the whole song change key at some point. I'd like to hear you
expand on the film you envision this with: what sort of film?
I'm off to hear some more of your stuff! P.S. You're from my
hometown. Nice seeing some other Milwaukee folks here.

interesting minimalist piece. a bit repetitive. i find the kick
kinda pops too much, but could be just my speakers.

nicely chilled &mdash 08/24/05 - 06:02:41 PM
sounds great swoop. i agree with misschaos some vocals
would be good. barry white- like maybe.
but as a film soundtrack it flows along nicely.

Some good stuff going on here &mdash 08/24/05 - 06:10:23 PM
Like the percussion groove. Great base for a soundtrack.
Nice production work. Would love to see you come back and
retool it with some vocals.

swood understood &mdash 08/24/05 - 09:37:48 PM
Yes. This piece is definitely an underbelly for a cool
movie. Adventure, mystery, East-West, dark-darker. It's
already been mentioned that it's repetitive. So throw some
long threads over it ... distant train yard, undulating
sirens, searing electric viola, or something synthetic in the
mid to upper range.

Great Flavor! &mdash 08/24/05 - 09:45:31 PM
My favorite detail is the little rasp rhythm that sits up
behind the high hat. I also recognize the sound of that
chime instrument, something Chinese I think, but I can't
think of what it is called. Great use for it though. It really
contributes a sense of wandering or uncertainty.

I also really like the way you play with the pattern of
phrases. I don't think you leave 4/4 time, but the
staggered arrangement of the phrases contributes to an
arhythmic feel, which heightens the sense of wandering.

I could see this being very effective in a film as a character
confronts some daunting realisation. Do you have any
clips on line?

i like your mix &mdash 08/24/05 - 10:59:30 PM
you did some real inventive things with the percussion
loops-well done. man, this is a perfect bed for vocals. could
use a change up or break in there somewhere

Very Subtle &mdash 08/27/05 - 08:21:20 AM
Very good mix of sounds, excellent production. I like the feel
of this track and the several rhythms going on at once.

genre &mdash 12/31/05 - 08:28:08 PM
since it's just instrumental i think the genre is off. it's not really rap. more industrial or techno or trance. it seems to be well put together. it does pop a little as some one said. vocals yes would add nicely. i like the keyboard part. somewhat repetitive, but then that can make some of the best songs, with slight changes often in the vocals.
