Good effort I agree with the first commenter as far as "A for effort". I think my main issues with this song are: Starts too abruptly -- it needs some kind of intro before it kicks into full gear Ends too abruptly -- I did hear a slight fade-out / reverb of the final notes, but it was still very sudden. The instruments don't sound balanced -- it seems like each instrument is fighting to be dominant, instead of some taking the primary harmony for a time while the others take on a supporting role. It's especially tough on the ears when the highest-pitched synth loops kick in. Apart from a basic kick, there is no percussion present. This would help add some color and flavor to the piece. One sort of standard techno application here would be a high hat striking on the off beats to complement the kick. Consider manipulating the loops -- cropping them down a bit or using just a piece in the middle -- and creating new rhythms from them. Instead of the kick always banging out on every beat, try cropping one instance of that single-beat loop down to a 1/4 beat. Then you can put two of them next to each other, leave a quarter-beat gap, then put another quarter-beat kick. Take that set of beats and put it in as your 4th beat of every 4th measure and you establish a phrasing pattern in the song of 3 full measures of full-beat kicks, followed by a measure with 3 full beats and your new combo in the 4th beat (bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, bump, ba-ba, ba-bump, bump, bump, bump, ...)
