Sound Experiment 1

Description
This is the direction in which I am now moving. I am making my own loops and constructing sound experiments with these loops. With the exception of the raw noise from which the loop is made, everything has been constructed using garageband.

The title explains the piece; it is an experiment in sound.

Amazing!
Probably one of the most creative and beautiful pieces I
have heard on this site this year. Love the Sustained
sound punctuated with the blips and rhythms. The form
changes just enough that you can enjoy a section without
getting bored of it. I feel the vibe.

You really need to do this song justice though and come
up with a better title...or maybe not: I was attracted to this
song because of the title. Maybe subtitle it. Anyways...

Really really great stuff. Loved it.

Amazing!
And check out a collab I did with Stun_Nutz and _nderscore, at http://www.macjams.com/song/6299. Similar in that it is persistently temponic yet sustained at the same time.
A lot darker though. ---

Amazing!
I'm pleased that you have found as much pleasure in the piece as you have, and
to have scored it so high. Although it seems that some people disagree with
you. This is to be expected. I looked into the song that you have mentioned
and I can see the similarities. I like your piece and will have to check out more.
Do you have any further suggestions? I've continued to experiment further in
this vein and will continue to post the experiments. Your comments are
welcome. The title is a default. I was unable to come up with anything better.
But since there is no genre to place such an experiment, I stuck with its working
title. The intention is to describe the nature of the piece, which is what the title
does. I concure with your statement; if, while browsing, I saw the title "sound
experiment 1", I would stop and check it out. Thank's again for the imput.

Amazing!
I was trying to remember where I picked up the idea of a sustained sound, since
it is widely used, and I'm sure it comes primarily from the minimalist composer
Luc Ferrari. If you can, check out his albums "Interrupteur/Tautologos 3," Place
des abbesses," and "Cellule 75."

Astounding.
I think that this "experiment" was a resounding success!
This is being added to my favorites.

Astounding.
I'm pleased you enjoyed the piece and I hope you will give some of my further
sound experiments a listen. Thanks also for the rating.

Thanks for listening. Please listen to some of my other experiments as I post
them. I'm always interested in what others have to say.

innovative
It is no easy feat to combine "unconventional" sounds into
something coherent like this. You have done a masterful
job of choosing these interesting sounds and combining
them in various ways.

Pacing is everything! You have done well with this -- the
way you add layers, then remove them, and introduce new
sounds as the piece progresses is truly inspired. The
composition has a definable beginning, middle and end.
(That's why I used the word "coherent" earlier.)

I like to compare innovative, abstract pieces of music like
this to abstract art. It needs to be a bit "outside the box",
yet still accessable to the eyes and ears. Listening to this, I
felt like I was looking at a textured painting, sort of cross-
woven like hopsack cloth, colored gray but with little dots
of red and blue. (No, I didn't put anything special in my
morning coffee!)

Thank you for posting this art music.

Growing pains
Car door open sound?
I have been trying to make my own sounds lately too.
Tapping on the radiator, etc. I am curious to what songs
these end up in. I am finding that for every 10 average songs
I create, one really good one manifest's itself.
I digress, although this is just an experiment, I think and still
stands on it's own just fine.

One for the sound museum...
I was glad to find this one! It reminds me of a lot of _nderscore's
stuff, but definitely has it's own vibe. You really grabbed my
ear...it got me from the very beginning.

One for the sound museum...
Your listening palate must be uniquely cultured. I always enjoy it when wading
my way through recent posts and I stumble upon those oddball songs that stick
out like a sore thumb. Thanks for listening.

Excellent
The engineering is excellent and I like the deliberate pacing and tone/
tones of this.

Excellent
GB has served me well in constructing the Sound Experiment Cycle. I wanted a
very low-tech feel, but not low quality. I enjoy the pacing as well, which comes
primarily from listening to minimalist composers. Thanks for listening and
commenting.

abstract, dreamy, noise induced patterns for thoughts. Really cool.
Great concept and brave thing to do. Definitely ART, and interesting
matter for an installation piece. Reminds me of yugop.com

Glad you enjoyed the piece and commented. At present, with my recent move, I don't have anything except dial-up, so I can't upload or download or listen to anything. Hopefully this will change. I have edited together all the sound experiments into a single track, which I hope to upload. Although, It may be too long to be posted. We'll see.
