Description
An early song (10 years ago, maybe) from the time when I just started hard-disk-recording. At that time I felt sick, `cause my girlfriend left me. Just another generic lovesong! On percussion: Dirk Elsing.

Lyrics
Hey
Safe...

S) Save my soul tonight
I`m tired of the fight
But you`re wounded
And your mind is miles away

I`ve never known the truth
And now I`m gonna loose
What I always had
But eye`s too blind to see

B) It seemed to be all over
It seemed to be OK
But what`s inside their minds
And what`s inside of me

I can`t remember one thing
That wasn`t worth to feel

But nowadays it`s one per cent
And 99 of steel
And noone wants to feel like this
Because it`s just,
because it`s just not real

I) We take our time for things
Like money, glory, gold
We take all drugs and then
Forgetting: we are cold

R) Turn it off and throw away the key
I`ve tried it on my own
and now I see
Turn it off and throw away the key
I`ve tried it on my,
tried it on my,
tried it on my own...

AGAIN

S) ...
B) ...
R) ...

Delicate and warm
Very nice. I can hear a violin in a instrument break, adding
to the superb Island-Latin acoustic playing. Delicate and
warm. Very nice.

Beautifully understated song
- laid back and personal. Great fluid guitar, great
melody, beautifully performed. Like the harmony on the
second last "again" - very subtle touch.
Keep em coming!

very relaxing
This track's great - really relaxing. I love the guitar, and your
voice, plus the lyrics. They all work so well together. This
sort of music is beautiful, and you've written it so well. The
mix is good too - I wouldn't make the voice louder, I feel it's
embedded very well into the mix and gives it the laid back
chill effect. Really impressed, thanks for posting.

A great track
Sounds wonderful. Vocals remind me of the Alan Parsons
Project. Drums are tastefully understated, and enjoyable.
Guitar picking is very listenable.

And thanks for your kind comments about my "This Little
Light" song.

Wonderful
It has a smooth jazz quality about it. Kenny Rankin and Michael Franks come to mind. Your singing and guitar playing is great.

Beautiful song.

Sweet baby JT sounds
Has a James Taylor feel, and I always love the way he makes
me feel. That's good guitar playing and recording.

Where living has taken place
I think this is your best song you've submitted as of me hearing it. I love
your stuff. You are truly talented, giving us music that find peace in
places where living has taken place, where others may not have found it
quite so well.

"...99 of steel..."
Dig this line:
"But nowadays it`s one per cent and 99 of steel..."
I like the way it sounds and plays visually in my little brain.
Only 1% is worth anything, the rest is hard and unyielding.
Love the line and the song.

Nice Mood
Great Stuff. I like the mood you set and I like the chord progression. It's somewhat similar to the style that I play.
Keep it up!

Hitting you first
No generic love song here. You're an outstanding guitarist and an awesome song. Have you ever thought of going back to this one because it has a nice blend of pop and jazz. Very soothing to the ears. Maybe add a little music break too.

Steven Stills, it reminds me a bit of him.

Good going,

Dave
