I'd Listen to More Ballads &mdash 08/27/05 - 06:57:18 AM
If they had guitar playing like this. Well done - and very clear
mix.

I'd like to know... &mdash 08/27/05 - 08:44:40 AM
...what the annoying things were in the previous mix, that
you've fixed.

From what I remember, this version sounds cleaner, with
more of the "highs" in the overall sound. My personal
preference would have been to punch up the bass a little,
but this track sounds awfully good.

You have created a mellow, expansive atmosphere on this
tune which is very pleasing to the ear, and soothing to the
soul. Great tune to kick back to after a "hard day at the
office".

ziti, I loved the first version... &mdash 08/28/05 - 09:23:13 AM
...and though I have dutifully downloaded this one, I can't for
the life of me remember anything wrong with the other one...

It's gorgeous in whatever mix it meets my ears...

Not sure what the difference with the other version is, but
this is mighty pretty! Downloaded for the iPod!

Gorgeous &mdash 08/30/05 - 05:15:04 PM
Absolutely gorgeous.
You and Ruby never cease to amaze me...
Wonderful piano background as well.
This is one fantastic ballad.
Did I mention it was gorgeous?

Such warm, melodic, romatic guitar playing &mdash 09/01/05 - 07:58:43 AM
Your guitar playing is superb, and your melodic development
is wonderful. At low levels, at which a romantic tune like this
might be played, the guitar might be too hot compared to
the rest of the track, especially the bass (which I would
boost). I personally find the rhythm track highly annoying, in
both its looping repetition and the sounds it uses (which
don't fit the warmth of your guitar), lending the track a
prefab feel that doesn't do it justice. Consider adding
acoustic drum loops with fills, and maybe an organ for
comping variations? Such great guitar playing, ziti. It
deserves a warmer, more human bed.

thanks tobin &mdash 09/01/05 - 10:02:43 AM
yes...i agree with you on certain points here...i actually added guitar to the
finished aiff, instead of being able blend the guiter in, it sort of sits on top.
and re-mixing the background was'nt an option. Maybe someday i can get
the masterfiles from swanny and mix it correctly.

thanks for the thoughtful thoughts

The Wierd Shit &mdash 10/14/05 - 06:07:18 PM
Whatever it is, it is unlike anything my ear has heard. It makes an otherwise pedestrian tune, well, very interesting sounding. Do more of it. It has an anticipatory feel, I think. Makes me want to hear more of it, I know that!
