Description:
A simple dark love song. Some strange scientific principle is not letting me compress any more volume into this track. So try turning the volume up on this (unless its my free aeroplane earphones that make it sound so low...)
Lyrics:
Fresh from yesterday, you just came my way
And I said hi...
Memories remain, of innocence
And the days gone by...
I know I know that its complicated
I know I know whats on your mind
Come inside, dry your eyes
I guess you never knew
Its the simple things, the simple things
Between me and you
Come on over now, lets break the hour glass
And make some time...
For the seconds that we felt, and the spirits
That we left behind...
I know I know that its complicated
I know I know whats on your mind
Come inside, dry your eyes
I guess you never knew
Its the simple things, the simple things
Between me and you
I remember what you did
In the evening sun
In the winter snow
In the bright blue sky
And the open sea
I remember...
Come inside, dry your eyes
I guess you never knew
Its the simple things, the simple things
Between me and you

excellent performance, excellent production.
I really like how you use voice as an instrument. It's the song
is moving. [ Reply to This ]
Your song is a delight... &mdash 09/06/05 - 10:22:53 PM
...and your cat plain scares me...
It's like that sometimes...
Lovely swirling textures here, including a textured vocal...I
really like the sounds you're getting and I envy all the toys
you apparently have to play with... You are certainly
proving the power of curiosity, imagination and play... and
G5's...
Nice lyrics...as sometimes happens with a good song, I
could've stood for it to last a little longer...
That would be good alternative, I suppose...
Now I've gotta go back and check out your other ones...

great song &mdash 09/07/05 - 01:46:31 PM
Has a real band feel to it, with chord progressions, drum
fills. The drums sound live. The toughest part of
computerized music is making it sound like it doesn't
come from a box - and you aced it. [ Reply to This ]

Great guitar! &mdash 09/08/05 - 01:15:51 PM
The first thing is I love the jangily guitar intro...
I kept thinking Sheryl Crow was going to break into a verse...
Then in comes your voice...wonderful with a real nice use of that lush chorus effect.
Very distinct sound

This is really masterful man. Really good. This is going
on my most listened to list for sure. The scratchy vocals
really seem to work for this this, though I'd be interested
in hearing the song with them recorded a little more
solidly.
Groovy bass line, lovely noodling guitars, cool space synth
stuff that doesn't sound dated. Good dynamics. Overall
level is my biggest criticism. Give this to someone to
master and you've got quite a tune here. [ Reply to This ]

Like it a lot! &mdash 11/09/05 - 04:52:04 AM
Very athmospheric work here... it could easily end in a reverb mess, but it doesn't!!! And it's a very cool song...
I'going to listen to your other stuff... :) [ Reply to This ]

Dreamy. Etherial. Sweet. Pensive. Really dug it. Awash in reverb. You might try having just one element totally free of reverb (like a egg shaker- or quiet tamborine)- even in a song like this. It adds a sense of contrast to the reverb- sets off a yin-yang in the aural space. Just an idea. Beatles did it all the time. XTC, too.
Now: after listening to this, you need to cleanse your palette and listen to my tune "racerat", cuz it remind me of your a$$ kickin' machine-gunnin' kitten icon...which I am still bustin' a gut over.
(sorry of the shameless self promotion, just tryin' to get out there, ya know?)
