Description:
My 2nd attempt at figuring out Garageband - so again, it's just apple loops for this one. I fell in love with the piano samples - so this is my tribute to whoever played them. Thought it sounded a bit soundtrackish.

Hardware:
12" powerbook

Software:
Garageband

I do know those loops and I'm really impressed at how
well you've hidden the seams. That and I like your sense
of beauty. Of all the permutations for these little sound
snippets, you've made one with drama.

I liked the abrupt ending, too. It worked for me.

Thanks - I'm glad you found it dramatic! There was some beautiful playing in
some of those loops - I really enjoyed putting it all together.

i'm so impressed &mdash 09/08/05 - 08:57:56 PM
that you composed such a wonderful song by using well
know loops. And, you know, actually the loops that you
have used in this song are my favorites, I'm using some
loops that you have used in this song in my song "Arthur
To Avalon":) thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for your enthusiasm - it blesses my first attempts and
encourages me to do many more. I listened to your Arthur track and found it
fascinating to hear your version of so many of the same samples - we seem
to have similar tastes! Nice one.

well done, times 2 &mdash 09/09/05 - 06:54:56 AM
I too really like those piano snippets, and very much like
how you put them together. Funny you mention this as a
tribute to "whoever played them." When I first got GB, I
too was thinking "wow, this person wrote/played these
beautiful loops, and gave them away without getting
credit for them, how generous... almost sounds like
George Winston."

Anyway, welcome to the deliciously addictive world of
MacJams... I have a feeling you'll enjoy this online
community. There are a lot of very talented people here
who offer helpful tips all the time.

Very nicely constructed ... you've got a good feel for what
works where. Plenty of dynamic range and enough going
on to keep it interesting. I look forward to hearing more
from you.

There must be something in the water &mdash 09/13/05 - 05:36:24 AM
I gravitated towards the same loops when I did my song
"Yes". I now have a theory it's because my father's families
were from County Cork.
Well done and welcome to MacJams.

mmm....mmmm....good! &mdash 09/25/05 - 03:31:50 PM
like i wrote in a forum earlier today -
i don't care wether Betty Crocker helped bake the cake or not, I only
care if the cake is tastey and this piece is deliciously tastey!
