illuminati: After we finished the original Bringing Down the Satellites, I think both Ledeb and I thought, "Great! That was fun, now we can work on our own things!" Little did we know the satellites would call us back to work. We had joked about doing a dance remix of the song while making the first version and as tends to happen in life, jokes turn into reality. I had a great time working with Ledeb and her brilliant vocals again and I hope you like the results.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the All-Satellite Tabernacle Choir, including such orbiting alumni as Oscar, Relay, Telstar, and Sputnik. I would like to thank them for their ground breaking performances.
Ledebutant: Cruel taskmaster that he is, illuminati forced me right back into the
recording booth and whipped me until I had re-recorded the entire BDTS
vocal. This is the brilliant (on my part) result.
Okay. I admit it. I had nothing to do with this; illuminati,
brilliant producer that he is, made this all by himself. I did
nothing, but listen and say, oooh, I like this bit and that bit. I
also attempted to foist off a wavery re-recording of the vocal on him,
done when I was sick. Very wisely, he used mostly the original vocal.
I think this is a very cool, trippy remix of the original and, quite
frankly, I'm hoping that he'll continue remixing it weekly, so I never
have to do a lick of work again, as long as I live. Thanks, Mr. i!

Monstermama
Another brilliant work by this fantastic duo. Great job. I
love the vocal effects, and Eisenhower's bit really adds to it
as well. Wonderful.
illuminati
Thanks Monstermama! And good catch with the Eisenhower bit!
alley-oop
Great combo, Illuminati and Ledebutant. Can't be beat,
great twist on the the original. awesome music Mr.I. Very
nicely done. Lots of very interesting sounds. facinating
groove. Ms.L, even second time around, you song/voice is
just as fresh and inviitng. D/L
Bravo! Excellent groove!
Fav'd and D/L'd!
Dance until you shit your pants! Then do it again!
illuminati
I took your advice, Bizarre, and now I'm not sure I'm happy about it. The
tacos were great, the dancing until bodily functions took over, not so
great.
chikoppi
I like how you placed the guitar and synth in the distance
behind the percussion. The thick reverb sounds as big as
space itself in comparison to the sharp drums. The careful
panning of the vocals also creates a multi-dimensional
space. The digital details and arpeggios are well
integrated. Great ear for adding the occasional detail to
emphasize moments in the song.
NIce transitions between phrases. Very smooth.
illuminati
Thanks Chikoppi! You are the mixing god and your compliments mean a
lot! I'm glad you noticed some of the more subtle of the 40 + tracks this
went. I appreciate you checking our song out.

Cool rhythm, the voice fits in really nice.
Cool sounds in the middle and towards 3/4 sounds like tumi
sounds.
Nice going
illuminati
Thanks Tiler! I'm not sure if that's a tumi loop in the third break, but it is
a loop and one of the last things added. Many of the other loopy sounds
are actually wacky synth sounds from Crystal and Automat, and maybe a
few from Sound Font Synth, as well as some real satellite samples.

This is a great remix! The effects and vocal
treatments really work... the beat is cool... the music
is very strong and has a nice cohisiveness to it... I
really dig this one.
illuminati
Thanks for stopping in to check out the latest word from the satellites.
When Ledeb and I started on this, I decided that if it worked and
honored the original, I would (with Ledeb's permission) release it to the
masses. I've always wanted to do a remix that didn't suck. I hope this is
one of those.
Drew Kopr
Dude, this kicks total ass. What an awesome remix!
Drew Kopr
Holy shit, Ledeb is hot!!
Morning Light
all the great sounds, beats, your voice so free, the style, the
feel if it, the message.....

You guys don't post ANYTHING that you don't send me an
email about... I'll... I'll.... I'll pay for the stamp!...
Fun sound. Takes that haunting original to the club and
turns up the volume...
Nice harmonized satellites, appropriately panned in orbit...

Not traditional trance, but damn cool. Goes well with
morning pecan coffee. Awesome beat, groove and mix.

Bob'n my head, groov'n as I go, this one helps to carry me
along. Rich w/ texture and sexy as all get out...
This is a very well done little mix here... It's usually not
this good, the stuff that ends up on the dance floor. This
one can be for me, strictly for listening. It is very well
krafted. It may not be too obvious to most, but it seems
as though an awful lot of thought and attention to detail
went into this, and it went to all of the right places.
This was my first listen to your music, I got here in a kind
of passive, almost accidental way. I am intirqued... I love
what I'm hearing, and I will actively be on the qwest for
more.

First off, let me say this song is very well made and a real work of art. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of everything -- vocals, synths, loops, mixing, effects, the whole shebang. I made very sure my voting reflected that.
But I do have to question if this is really "trance" in what, for lack of a better term, I'll cal the "normal" sense. I've certainly heard trance music with vocals, often sounding every inch like it belongs in a club for people to be dancing to with lots of energy. And I guess that's where I have the problem.
The energy in this song is very laid back. It's not something I would classify as a "dance" or "club" track; It's just way too mellow. That said, this is, as already noted, an excellent piece of music and certainly deserves all of the high votes it's gotten.
The Fritters
Production!! Loved it, I agree it's not exactly trance, but it totally works
for me--great vocals, interesting lyrics. Love all the effects you put in.
Nice mixing job! xxoo, kelli

i loved the original of this, and i must admit i'm usually not keen on
remixes (tho' i love some of the conjour one stuff) but this is great in it's
own right.
Great mix, love the guitar chiming in the backgrounds, and LeDeb's voice
great as per; this builds a great sense of direction and momentum
towards the end.
great work people - a chilled and sexy track.
TEXASFEEL
I've been missing out. Really like your approach. This is a really nice tune
and the the vocals are icing. Thanks for sharing.
