Lyrics
so dark tonight
i can't seem to write
with mars overtaking the room

but i just might
see
cause your light's filling up my room

and i've got you
tucked inside my pillow
singing me to sleep
under the willow
the weeping willow

is this hell
or something like it?
lost in the wreckage of a fallen craft

but your sweet, sweet song
there ain't nothing like it
sweeps me up the airshaft

takes me home
where i've got you
tucked inside my pillow
singing me to sleep
under the willow
the weeping willow

someone took from you life
but you must still have some around
sliced it out with the dullest knife
still - in you, that's what i found

that's what i found

cause i've got you
tucked inside my pillow
singing me to sleep
under the willow
the weeping willow

SWEET TUNE!
I like your voice! Try putting more effects on the vocals like delay or reverb!

Dark beauty
Excellent lyrics, to begin with.
Your performance, guitarwise and vocal, is great - very calm
and mystic, yet lets you know that something's about to
happen. I was not dissappointed.
This would totally kill with some more accompaniment!
Great job!

suspenseful
something eerie and mournful about this - really like that
guitar. Must admit it takes awhile to get used to your
vocals, but halfway through everything smooths out
wonderfully.

Very nice!
Darren,
This is a good song, and well sung. I hear potential for
violin in the background before the heavy bit. Or perhaps
some keys.

As a Seagull player, I'm interested in how you recorded the
guitar. I have noticed with mine (which I love) that it
doesn't record well when I hit it hard, especially chords - I
use the Quantum II inbuilts. I get a much better sound
when I use a mic as well, especially on the louder
passages. Sounds a bit like you might be having a
similar problem.

All in all a good post, and one which is worth spending
some time on.
Thanks,
Neil

Very nice!
thanks neil -

i don't have built in electronics, so i just use a mic (m-audio luna) on the
guitar. it's always very quiet. i have a really hard time with it. i have an LR
Baggs iBeam Active waiting to be installed, but i don't have the money right
now. once i get that, i'll probably use that and a mic.

i love my seagull as well. i have the artist mosaic. it's getting beaten up, but
sounds better than ever.

and yeah - this song i imagine with a lot of different stuff going on. the
beginning is supposed to be piano. but i'd love strings, drums, want to add
some electric guitar...

but anyway - that's how i record my seagull. thanks again for the comments.

good one
your voice sounds good on this piece, yes, I would re-record some
tracks and maybe add some more instruments, it is a good song with a
good vibe.
I think you should develop this tune, your voice sounds very original
and that is really great.
works and music are worth developing here.

cheers

heartbreaking in a very calming, lullaby sense. until those big
chords wake me up and send for coffee. your voice really hangs
between an emptiness and a cuddle that i can relate to.

i'm not good at talking about myself! i will say that you may be in for some varying qualities of recording. some bad, some not so bad. i'm getting better at the 'engineering' side of things, so it should be continuously improving. also - if ... [see more]
