Description:
I wasn't really sure in what category to put this one. I wish there was a "New Wave" category.
Anyway, this is a song about love, unsecurity and security, all that goes with being a teenager. And, I will never really grow up.

I am playing all instruments except the drums which are loops.

Lyrics:
[ on the dance floor ]

i open up the door and there's a girl on the floor
dancing
i open up the wine and I just wanna die
she's watching me
i try to be cool because I am
cool
i walk up to her and ask her if she wants
to dance

she looks at me
and she smiles
on the dance floor life is like magic
dancing away to the sounds

we dance like pretty pretty robots
in the light
i ask her what her name is;
amelia
i tell her I have a computer
with that name
she think that is romantic
i am in love again

Thank you!!! &mdash 09/14/05 - 06:53:37 AM
I am happy you liked the song. Right, I do have a lot of
different styles - to me that's a freedom, to others it doesn't
make sense at all. To me, the times when you had to be
either a punk rocker or a rock-a-billy due, a synth rocker or
a heavy metal freak is long time gone. There's good music in
all styles. Good stories, good messages. I am very pleased
to say the least you are able to grasp my kind of art.

Thank you!!!

hey... &mdash 09/14/05 - 08:54:47 AM
...this is a pretty cool song, Mikki. I like the retro
sound, the lyrics are funny and the chorus is strong.
I only wish it had a little more of a driving, springy
electro-disco infused dancebeat... hmmm...

Hypnotic Beat &mdash 09/14/05 - 09:22:33 AM
and lyrics to go with it. Great textures and change of
pace. This should make people dance because my body is
bouncing in the chair as I type this.

Boldly going where few have traveled &mdash 09/14/05 - 12:03:00 PM
Sort of Eno meets Devo meets Byrne with the B52s at the
Boston Symphony. Futuristic surf punk...disco.

oh yeah &mdash 09/14/05 - 01:07:56 PM
You definitely have the New Wave vibe going on here,
instrumentally, lyrically and all. The bass line and synths are
perfect. And the "I have a computer with that name" sounds
exactly like something I would have said 20-someodd years
ago. I guess that's why I didn't date much as a teen.

Lots of fun, Mikki.

It's a cool song &mdash 09/20/05 - 02:27:21 AM
It does sound a bit like something Blur might have done
or covered. I'm also thinking a bit of Billy Ocean. I really
like it. Very well mixed.

Can't add too much to what's been said, but I LOVE hearing
New Wave sensibilities used well - as they certainly are here.

Wit and Talent with very hot Production value. Cool 'nuff.
