Lyrics
I’ve been slippin’ on a slide
& I’m ready for a new ride
going realign my sights again

When I get down to you
lets not feel quite so blue
we dont want to feel that way again

I don’t know what’s fighting’s for
I’ve seen the light and I want no more

I was sliding for my life
created all that strife
Think I know what’s wrong in my mind

Damn well know whats right
Look ahead see the bright light
hold my hand and I’ll take you there again

I don’t know what’s fighting’s for
I’ve seen the light and I want no more

Look ahead – see the fine white line
I’m walking it – all the time
I’m shaking from top - down to my feet
walking to the light - it seems so sweet
see the man - he walks so slow
he looks like me - and I cant say no
do you wonder - if i am the man
capable - to take a stand
let me show you- I feel true
all i see is love for you

Im starting to feel quite fine
we needed to take a the time
come along and be with me again

cus when i get back to you
let the bad times all be through
come on, let me be your man again

I don’t know what’s fighting’s for
I’ve seen the light and I want no more
I don’t know what’s fighting’s for
I’ve seen the light and I want no more

Nice pickin'
Let me be first to comment. Nice recording John.
Particularly like the guitar solo and the picking in general.
You get great sounds recorded from the strings. It all
rolls along nicely with a great finish.

VERY CRISP
The quality was uncut, sounds like a studio mastered track, this is the sound , i often try to capture. The back round vocals were blended well , and i like when the beat changes and you kick your flow over the ne piece,

tight song

Wonderful song, wonderful sound
Lovely cascade of string sounds ... delightful to listen to!
Beautifully played and sung, and the banjo is gorgeous.

The change of pace in the middle is great. A really well
made song. I'm impressed!

Great change into the minor section...
... with the clapping. I love that. It really makes the song.
Lovely banjo and dobro. And I like that rising harmony
too... that's really sweet and beautifully rendered. Great
work.

Thanks Reb and Mando. I used the Flamenco trick of two clap patterns
alternating with each other

Very Fine
I agree with mando that the hand clapping was really a
nice touch. Nice banjo and dobro. The melody started out
a little shakey but then took off and was very pleasant to
listen to. This is one of those songs that sounds like one
you have heard before but really haven't. I guess that is
because of the integration of a lot of different elements
not ordinarily heard in the same tune. Great Job!

Thanks guys. really plesed you hhave enjoyed the song. BTW you wouldnt
believe how hard it is to keep up an even handclap. Just the slightest change in
hand position changes the tone and loudness dramatically.

Good luck with the travels CJs. at least you got the hear some of my Dobro
before you head off.
