Good vocals and guitar- no question. Can you give some
insight as to how this was recorded? To my ears it seemed a
little trebly and I thought I was hearing some type of
background noise (hiss)... I don't know... maybe it's my
headphones. I'll listen again this afternoon.

I did like a the song a lot- cool chord progressions and
impassioned singing...sweet!

Guitar work & vocals - especially liked the back up vox/harmonies. my only complaint is with the recording quality & and the abrupt ending. Would love to hear this one cleaned up a bit & fade out on the guitar. even so, i give ya 8788. thanks for sharing this one!

Thanks for your comments.
At the end of the song, I originally ended it with a rather strong note, then let it fade out with an echo. but, Garageband would cut it off everytime I exported it to iTunes. After 50 times, I gave up and stuck with it.
As far as quality, I still don't have a microphone yet, so I'm just recording with the laptop's internal mic, live. I will buy a microphone before I'm 50.

Oooh. Me likey. &mdash 09/25/05 - 06:02:36 PM
Great song and great playing. Oh, and great singing!! This sounds
good as a "coffee-shop" recording, but would love to hear it more
studio-sounding as well. It sounds like you are far from the mic, or you
recorded guitar and vocals at the same time. The quality of your talent
is clear nonetheless!!

You hit it on the nose. It's recorded live, just jamming, sitting in a chair while the laptop sits on a table. I really do need to start investing some cash into recording equipment.

Thanks for your kind words.

Good Job &mdash 11/30/05 - 10:09:32 AM
Really enjoyed listening to this song.

Since we don't know that you don't have a mic AND you know that the
quality is going to suffer a bit because of this, you might as well play
UP this fact and make the track LIVE.

Garageband has some applause loops or you can find some "coffee
shop" ambient noises. Place them at the beginning and the end of the
song. Play around with the overall feel for it. You could even put a little
"guitar tuning" and a couple of coughs at the beginning, like you are
"warming up", and a few "thank you"'s at the end as the crowd goes
wild with their standing ovation... OK... maybe a bit too much :-)

Here's a tip on how to "force" GarageBand into extending the ending.

1) Place a loop (or record) a new track.
2) Extend the new track to as long as you want.
3) Edit the volume to 0 (or Mute it)
4) Instant extension. Do it to my pieces all of the time and works like a
charm.

Thanks for sharing.
