Description:
I couldn't come up with a middle for this one, so it kinda turned into techno. Oh well. The piano started because my friend was betting me to see how fast I could play a piano trill. That was about it, not to fast though. I finally bought iDrum, so here is my first song without drum loops - finally. Now everything can be how I like it, no loops, hence the fast paced percussion in the very beginning.

once I get back my brain from wherever you blew it away
I'll leave a more intelligent comment, but you did an
excellent job here. Good choice of artwork as well.

This is very cool Ben. I really like the relentless piano riff, and am impressed with what you have done with iDrum - I really must get something like that. I suppose the only suggestion I have would be to find that middle 8 and develop the song further. I can hear some great melody spaces for a vox in there also. Very nice!

I agree that it is somewhat repetitive. I will see what I can do with it. It may be
one of those songs I go back to in a few weeks to fix up some more.

Thanks for the comments.

Like the rushing feeling of this tune, nice mixture of the
piano and the synth. Has a cool movement to it.

UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL! &mdash 09/19/05 - 09:39:48 PM
I absolutely cannot believe this one! What a mix, and the
voice in there! The bass sounds, and all the wonderful
fullness of synths .... all with no loops! It's all just out of this
world beautiful!~!

iDrum &mdash 09/19/05 - 09:51:06 PM
I love the sound of the drums.... they all sound so real and it
really adds to the dimensions of this song. I look forward to
seeing what iDrum is!

mystical, flowing, even mournful &mdash 09/20/05 - 09:10:43 PM
Told ye I'd be back...

You've got a good handle on iDrum, sounds like - can't
wait to hear more!
The vocal fits right in with the instruments, which
are extremely well chosen - The contrast between piano
and synths is gorgeous. I've heard them together many
times before but you do something here that brings it
up to a new level. Really like when the music box sound
comes in. Very delicate.
One question, do you play guitar too or do you use loops?
It's a subtle but a great addition.

The guitar is actually my keyboard. I didn't use loops, but it still really isn't "real"
since it is keyboard. I just put a line in from my keyboard to computer. The
songs "Watcher of the sky" and "Shuttle" actually have no GB or Logic
instruments, just recorded from my keyboard. I likes me keyboard.

Thanks for coming back :)

My brother plays guitar though. He thinks I am too much of a geek and doesn't
want to "play fake music with me" but I will keep working on him.

Heh, thanks for that different light on repetitiveness.

You will find that my songs are mostly hit or miss and that I still can't decide
what genre I like playing :)
