Description:
This is a collaborative experiment started by Fosod. I used the first derivative version in which the bass was added by IVANJS. I rearranged some of the measures, added organ, GB choral instruments, a collage of Twilight Zone out takes, processed percussion and sound effects. Since Fosod had this great cough in the original, I tried to create a story around that. (Artwork: Life in the Lab by James Neff.)

Love it! &mdash 04/17/04 - 07:02:49 PM
love the b3 and all the layering. Love the snippets of
zone in there. Very well done. Wasn't this a great
tune to add to?

Wish my Easy song had a
B3 solo... :)

Tobin,

Super work. Original Sci Fi Funk = Oriscifunk. I really
like the solo just past halfway. It fits well with the IvanJS
bass. The remix hiphop beat just after that is super-dee
as well. Really great job, as usual.---Kind regards,

TT

As Vincent might say. Liked the "customer out front" bit
during the cough. Reminded me ever so slightly of that
Seal track, last one on his first album where they play a
few snippets under the track on the fade out.

One thing you and Fosod have in common is that you
always do a really professional job.

Impressive.

I have a couple of more collaborations in mind with fosod... if he can just fit
me into his busy schedule! I love his imagination.

adding dessert &mdash 04/18/04 - 01:51:29 PM
this was my favorite new "borate" collab. i did't want it to finish. can i have some of those samples from the end and rework the coda? made me think of more to add and i don't want the music to stop... i think it would be cool if, like the old "telephone" game, the thing just keeps morphing.---morning girl

Interesting mix of genres &mdash 04/27/04 - 05:47:34 PM
I'm not overly familiar with this sort of jazz, so I'm a
poor excuse for a music critic. But I like it-don't
know what more to say.

More experiments like this ! &mdash 08/17/04 - 02:21:59 AM
Great melting of the interesting features of electronical
material with a sort swinging jazz mood ( I love the guitar
& organ ! ). Well, Tobin, I'm amazed ! Your knowledge of
music seems beyond reach. It seems like you've always
been very curious of all the interests of all the musical
genres, thus it produces richer experiments !

The samples from the Twilight Zone add the perfect touch!

What astounds me &mdash 02/27/05 - 10:02:56 AM
What really astounds me is how you can get these artists
to draw these pictures. You would think you would have
to pay them a fortune.

Thanks for sharing the music an of course the wonderful
pictures.

4 10's for so many of your drop dead pictures!

Thanks for your comments. If you like the images I use, please see the
galleries on my art community site: www.ArtsForge.com. The artist who did
this died unexpectedly last year, so this one is especially poignant. He fell
down stairs head trauma led to his death. You never what tomorrow will
bring.
