clarinet!
i ADORE the clarinet, first of all.

you've got a great tone - good song, progression, melody
and playing around it.

only thing i can say is that i'd love to hear it with a real jazz
band... i'm sort of a classicist when it comes to jazz - would
much prefer to hear a piano and real drums backing you up.

teach me how to play! :)

clarinet!
I agree. Jazz requires people playing together. So I don't really consider what I do with Garage Band really jazz. But, I took up Garage Band so I could do some music at home, alone. And I'm trying to come up with something interesting given the limitations of the program and my limitations in using it. I'm not that interested in trying to make the drum loops sound less loopy. But, maybe I'll think about it.

Full of joy
Lovely piece, BIlly. Love the dense chords that accompany your clarinet solo. My only suggestion is to vary the drums a bit, which sound mechanical to me, especially when compared with the lively, joyful clarinet. Excellent.

As usual
Another amazing performance... those super-fast
arpeggios near the beginning made my jaw drop, but then
I was always third-chair clarinet in high school :-) Very
clean recording, beautiful tone... wooden clarinet? Sounds
very warm. Agree about the constant hihat & drums being
a bit repetitive and distracting, maybe drop them back a
bit since the Clarinet is the star. Woohoo, another nice
piece! Thanks for giving me my clarinet fix!

even my cat liked it
I really like the tone of the clarinet .. its a beautiful instrument that I played once upon a time as a youngster. Anyway I like the idea of looping and playing along seeing what inspiration you can derive and what sounds you can make. and really even my cat liked it she immediately jumped up and started rubbing against the computer.. no joke

Glad I got to hear this -
your playing is wonderful and the arrangement is simple yet inventive. My first instrument was the clarinet - but I sat on it and broke it - trading the result in for an electric guitar - before I had a chance to really appreciate it. My daughter studied for a few years - so nows there's one back in the house. This gives me a push. Thanks.
