Description:
3:30AM, December 15, 1702.Revenge was done in the Edo city. This is the most famous in the history of Japan revenge.

The beginning of revenge goes back until March 14, 1701. Harima country Ako feudal lord. Asano. High house first on the list. Kira. The fight riot happened among these two people. The place is in general Tokugawa's Edo castle. Kira frequently insulted Asano. Kira said the word of the insult to Asano on this day too. Asano raged. Already. He was not possible to endure it. He cut Kira with the Japanese sword. However, it did not hit well. Kira ran away. Surrounding people caught Asano. General Tokugawa in the Edo castle raged. Because it was necessary to refrain from the fight at the Edo castle. General Tokugawa gave a decision at once. The hara-kiri on the same day was ordered to Asano. On the other hand, Kira was not blamed. Honor is valued from the samurai usually. It is hara-kiri on the TATAMImat for capital crime. However, Asano was commanded to the harakiri suicide in the garden. Ako is away from Edo by 620 kilos. The territory was being left to Asano by general Tokugawa. It is an Ako. Now, feudal lord Asano became capital crime. It is necessary to hand over the territory in Ako to general Tokugawa. Feudal lord Asano's vassals raged. It is because it is a one-sided decision. The master was capital crime. However, Kira was not blame.

Vassals imagined master's mind. Regrettable was sympathized with. Vassals who have samurai's soul. They determined it. Their master's revenge. Samurais lost the master. However, the mind was strong, and their prepared for revenge.

After that, in nine months of one year. Vassals in former Ako. They are 47 samurais. 47 samurais gathered secretly outside the residence of Kira. It was midnight. It was snowing. And, revenge was begun by ..drum of the fight.. signal. 23 people from front gate.24 people from back gate. It invaded the residence in vast Kira. Fight of about two hours. The Kira samurai are 17 dead, and 28 injured persons. Former Asano's 47 vassals did not have the dead. Finally, master's enemy was killed. It is Kira. Samurais in the Neighboring residence knew the attack. However, it did not stop it. They had goodwill in the samurai of the former Asano family. After revenge. 47 samurais marched to master's grave.

The morning came, and many citizens in Edo have come out. Everyone saw off 47 samurais. 47 samurais were not criticized. They became Edo citizens' heroes. One person came off during the march. The purpose is to inform Ako in the hometown.
46 samurais reported on revenge to master's grave. And, it gave oneself up to general Tokugawa. All members bravely received the judgment.

February 4, 1703. General Tokugawa ordered it. 46 samurais were capital crime. All members committed harakiri suicide. However, it was not a garden. It was on Tatamimat.

....................................................................
Photographs of the artwork are 47 samurais invading for the residence at Kira. It is an old print. The drum of the introduction to this tune mimicked the drum that had been beaten when invading the Kira mansion. It is a war drum of "YAMAGA style".

Great music - saw the movie! &mdash 09/20/05 - 09:36:13 AM
Loved the antic music. I can see people sneaking around,
people running, lots of power in this music! Very well
done. I also loved the old Japanese movie about this
event, "47 Ronin" I think... was Toshiro Mifune in this
movie too (he was in all movies?) I think it was a
Kurasawa film... I saw the movie 20 years ago, so I don't
remember the details, but it was a suspenseful depiction
of the event.

Drakonis

Drakonis,
Thank you for the comment.I am glad for you to listen.
I applied "47 samurais" and the name of a song. It was a coincidence. I have not
known "47 Ronin" up to now. I have not seen "47 Ronin". However, i examined it
a little. The supervisor was not Kurosawa. Toshiro Mifune did not perform.I want
also to see the movie.

Tadashi-san, you've done it again! &mdash 09/21/05 - 01:29:31 AM
The drums on this are worth huge scores on their own!
Tadashi, you never cease to amaze me with your skill,
imagination and patience. Your sense of rhythm is this
bass player's nightmare, and I love the fact that I could
never play anything like this - I love the cross rhythms on
the drums. On second listen, the synth work is also full of
masterful touches of light and shade. I am amazed (as
usual) by this piece!
Thanks so much Tadashi for sharing.

Your songs are always highlights here at Macjams! Wow, the 7/8s (or whatever it is) and the strange breaks come to life in your hands. The theme fits perfect and the story is as dramatic as your tune. Like it a lot, gets my vote, for sure!

Excellent sequencing &mdash 09/21/05 - 08:17:39 AM
I like very much this work of yours. Your approach reminds
me (if i may say) "Jazz from Hell" and "Zappa meets the
Mothers of Prevention", two albums of the late Zappa almost
entirely composed on the synclavier.
Only the saxophones sound a bit "lower budget" with respect
to the other tracks, which play *very* well together.

However, I hardly know Zappa.
However, I am honored.

Funk Mr. T.
Great song with great sounds and rhythms.
I wish you wouldn't have used that much reverb
on the drums. This is a great tune from beginning
to end, very well done. I hope you will do more
of those funky ones.

Cheers

Wow, this was much better than I'd expected! Somewhere between
Fusion and Prog Rock. How long did it take you to put this one
together?

I wasn't expecting the amount of talent in this place. It's great to
hear music that's off the beaten path. Keep it up.
