Description:
I wrote this in the morning after coming back from a very early flight. This sounds corny, but my mood from the flight inspired this song, as with many of my songs. The album art is a photo I took out of my cockpit over the ocean at sunrise. I love the shadows on the clouds. Some of you ask me where I keep getting beautiful melodies, and my answer is flying & looking down at nature. They change my mood for the day. It does something to me.
Lyrics:
N/A (Sorry CJ and others, I know you are waiting for lyrics someday... or some year. :) )

Korg Triton LE, iMac G5

Its like a snowy mountain &mdash 09/24/05 - 07:03:52 AM
The view above the clouds is very similar to the view you get when standing on snowcovered mountain. It's beautiful and breathtaking - as this image and the mood you must have felt this day...
I think your melody is very describing of such a mood, and could easily be used in a documentary or as a movietrack.
Good work on those keys walkingstick:)

I can wait :) &mdash 09/24/05 - 07:17:33 AM
if you keep making music like this (why do you have to keep blowing
my mind away?!?! I'll never listen to any other songs if you keep doing
this).
Feels alive, alight ... take me with you? [ Reply to This ]
Gee, a flying composer &mdash 09/24/05 - 07:32:05 AM
"from your cockpit". Okay, that sounds like you are a pilot.
Take me up there, man ;) With that song you already succeeded.

Gee, a flying composer &mdash 09/25/05 - 02:06:54 AM
Heh. I can't quite fly to Germany, nor have the funds too, (remember I am just a
poor college student :) ) but ask me in a few years and my answer may be
different.
Thanks for your comments.

the picture and the music . ... &mdash 09/24/05 - 09:45:44 AM
Nice setting with that picture.
Fun tune to listen to
One thing that inspired when I was a 14 year old, which to me was some
of my most impressionable musical years wree tunes like Telestar and
there is a kinship to that effect here. Love that jet sound as well.
Gorgeous melody thieme going. [ Reply to This ]
After 40 listens... &mdash 09/24/05 - 01:39:45 PM

Perfect feeling.

dancing on the clouds &mdash 09/24/05 - 06:02:18 PM
Very nice melody, great choice of synths (sounds sort of MissChaotic)...
my only teeny suggestion would be to possibly put some kind of break/
modulation in the middle, so it doesn't get too repetitive. In the middle,
you drop the synths out for a bit, and that helps, but something
substantially different might sound good too. And, finally, that is a
stunning photo, I can see how a natural view like that would be mood-
altering! Spectacular!

That is one thing I still have issues with, creating continuity while also changing
up the melody. It seems as if I can keep good continuity, or change up the
melody, but not both at the same time which I hope I will be able to improve on.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Nice Trip &mdash 09/25/05 - 07:35:54 AM
Thanks for the trip. I like the synth textures, and although a bit repetitve
throughout the song, the melody is very enjoyable.
I wouldn't mind hearing more low end on this (I had a similar comment on
the previous song I just listened to ... it may just be my ears today). [ Reply to This ]
With a view like that for inspiration... &mdash 09/25/05 - 10:19:24 AM
...of course the music that results is soaring and beautiful :)
(and not corny at all! I've had the same exhilaration standing on a
mountaintop.)
What is wonderful is your sharing it with us.
Thank you for this. Beautiful.

A real pleasure to listen to this.
I love the pulsing synths against the piano.
Beautiful melody and very inspiring.. Are you going to have vocals over
this?
As an instrumental it really is great. Great production and arrangement.

Lovely depth &mdash 09/25/05 - 11:27:40 PM
Lovely depth to this one Ben. Certainly evokes the feeling of being
miles up there! I agree with drakonis that you could liven it up by
putting in a section which deviates in some way - even a key change
helps to break the repetition sometimes. Having said that though, this
is as good a piece of big picture dance music as I can recall. [ Reply to This ]

Wonderful. Did I say wonderful? As good as any ambient trance music

This is a nice composition, Ws. it is helping me get work done today,
