Interesting composition. I'd put it under classical, tho, since it is a
synthesized clarinet and has a contemporary classical feel. Uses folk
stylings well mixed with jazz chordings, altho the voicing is a little too
parallel in places (in my ears). I'd have liked the piano to break out into a
solo that echoed the melodic line of the clarinet, have it be more of a duet
rather than solo clarinet and accompaniment. The middle piano one-
note-repeated section was rather stiff in comparison to the rest (again, in
my ears). I liked how the piece moved and dance, shifted with interest; as
said about another of your works, a good piece for modern dance.

Thankyou both for your comments. I'd just like to reply to a few comments.

As for classifying it under classical music, thats not something I agree with.
Classical music for me is music that was written at least a centuary ago and I
have no intention of trying to write music for an audience a centuary ago. I'm
writing music for me and I'm a contempoary person.

As for the piano breaking out into a solo, that was my natural tendency as I'm
am originally a pianist. With this piece though, I wanted to focus as much as
writing primarily for the clarinet and the result of this (at least occording to
the people at Sibeliusmusic.com) was that I came halfway with a solo clarinet
piece with a piano accompianment that was interesting to play.

As for the middle section, although I quite like it myself, that particular
comment has been made quite a few times by both normal musicians and a
couple of my composition lecturers (including one visiting from Sweaden). So
that is certainly something I'll consider changing if I decide to re-write it.

It sounds like an interesting composition. I would really prefer to hear a
non-garageband version. Overall, a lively and energetic composition.
