Description:
Tom Atwood suggested I ask macjammer Tadashi Togawa if he would be interested in playing the drums and percussion for this song, so I contacted Tadashi, and he very kindly agreed to do it. What you hear is only his work - my drums are no longer in there. I must say that I think his work is way too sophisticated for this particular song! Thanks so much Tadashi for your time and energy on this - much appreciated.

i am new here and have tried to keep it always on the positive side,
but....LOL. I don't get those drums! What about...I dunno...dropping all
that for some simpler new wavish type drums. The rest of the tune had
me bopping away happily...thinking a little of my teen years. just my 2
cents.

thanks for your comments - yeah, I tend to agree but wow, they sure move,
those drums! It's just fun to be able to get another perspective on things
sometimes. If you want, you can check out my original "No Feet" song, here on
macjams. I posted it last month or so, with my own "fake" drums. cheers.

Good stuff &mdash 09/28/05 - 03:11:14 PM
I really liked this song. I do agree with bigwavefred on this though. The song is great, the drums are great... But I think they would be better seperate. The song is a great simple pop tune. the drums I feel are just a bit to much for this peice.

I'd have to agree with Frank on this. Excellent performances all around, the
drums are a bit much.

I think the song is great and I feel the drums are not to much for the song! Your production sounds really good along with your vocals!

Excellent!

wow! &mdash 09/28/05 - 05:25:43 PM
Especially with the addition of Tad, what a gem!
I look at your score and say what? Your going up because you deserve
to go up. Rock music NEEDS to be fun again.
Thanks Daphna for MAKING rock music FUN to list to.

I don't think i've heard any music in this type of category that is as
good here. The syncopation, the neatest of the drums, your fun filled
terrific voice! And I do mean FUN!

This is what my idea of good rock music is!

This is fun! Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get really tired of drums being too harsh and too loud, too mean
sounding, too taking over the song.
Tad! Your my kind of drummer!!!!!!!!!!

Your playing with quality! Not quantity (in harshness - loudness)!
Thank goodness for Tad! I know radio loves the opposite, over-
everything thus destroying the music involved, or should I say lowering
the need anymore for melody for ever! It seems like drummers in so
many clubs want to do that. That is one reason I don't like to even step
into most of em.

Not Tad, he seems to bring flavor, style to Macjams. An historic -
future quality needed for drummerrs everywhere!
Even in your Samurais, the drums are done with great artistry! Subtle
drum sounds that have that asian feel - so so cool Tad!

There are certain sounds you get Tad that the average drummer kind
of shoots over their head!

Thanks Daphna, especially featuring Tad's tremendous talent!

wow! &mdash 09/29/05 - 12:11:57 PM
thanks so much thetiler! and you are right about Tadashi's playing. I do hear ya,
I really do. I feel that in much of the rock music of today, there is very little
talent, and to make up for that lack, they resort to the yelling, to lots of loud
drums, to lots of minor keys, to lots of moaning and wailing, and the like. It's so
not fun to listen to. I mean, you still can do it, and it be good music, as with
many rock bands of yesteryear, but those bands were very, very talented. Not so
today in many cases. Don't know where the talent went. I guess the wrong
artists and bands are getting signed alot of the time? I really like some of what
I've heard of Greenday for ex. because they are a step above alot of that - they
are fun and write actual melodies! Yes, let's get some FUN back into the music
shall we. THANKS Bill!

Fun song, very playful singing.
The drums are an interesting touch, I really like'em. The crazy hi-hat in
particular.
Good work!

I still love the tune &mdash 09/28/05 - 09:48:02 PM
You know how I feel about your voice.
I like a lot of the new stuff the drums bring in, but there are definitely a
few places I miss. Mostly on the specific hits right before the chorus. I do
like the drums laying out until that spot though.

thanks ka-klick. I tend to agree - Tadashi is too sophisticated for this song, but
it is interesting for me to hear it this way nonetheless. Cheers.

I should correct that comment really, because you are saying that you like the
drums, but would prefer more like what I had when it comes to the choruses.
That's exactly what I thought too actually - the choruses could use more support
from the drums, but the verse sections are fine. Thanks again!

Good tune....I just can't get over that FAKE GUITAR sound...really bugs
me cuz that solo was so damn cool..

Tadashi did real good on the drums...(even though the drums sound
fake too...)

But...I can overlook the drums thing....guitar is another story...

This stune NEEDS a REAL guitar sound!!

Otherwise a pretty catchy tune, clever lyrics, borderline annoying, but
still good...

-Cheers-

... &mdash 09/29/05 - 07:47:28 AM
I think I prefer the previous version, but that's my own personal taste, for sure. The drums here don't groove as much as they did before, but I think the main problem is mostly because they have some stiff and rather busy fills competing with the vocals. It certainly sounds like it was a lot of work to program them, but it's just not doing for me on this. It's nice to collaborate with people, but for me the original is much better. Still a great song, and I do like the way the drums lay out through the first verse. I guess I'm agreeing with you 100%, daphna, the drumming is way too sophisticated for this song, and rather inappropriate!

Hi Jim &mdash 09/29/05 - 11:48:48 AM
yes, the drums are wonderfully sophisticated - nothing I could ever do myself.
But in this song, yeah, they are too busy. I just don't want to take away from
what Tadashi did though because it sounds to me like he's an expert drummer!
Thanks for your comments there Jim - much appreciated.

Thank you very much, Daphna &mdash 09/29/05 - 09:07:10 AM
Daphna,thank you very much.
Thank you for the comment of everybody.

This drum is the one that everything was done by my supervisor.
daphna was anything did not say the demand. I did all differences
between this tune and the original. I did all points different from the
original of this tune by the arbitrary decision.
I made it liking me.
Daphna received and published my file. I wish to express my gratitude.
However, I think there are various impressions and it is natural. There
is each one's favor.
I love this tune.
And, I made drums as felt that I was the best.
I was able to play with daphna of a rich talent and was happy.

Daphna is a musician with whom the talent overflows.
Daphna is a friend who can trust it.
I am honored to be related to this tune.
Daphna,thank you very much.

I do votes to what to I was related for the first time.
It is ten point full marks in the talent of wonderful Daphna.

This is a great quirky, fun pop track... it sounds like you had a lot of
fun making it and that crosses over to the listening experience. Nice
one!
