Description:
A smooth midtempo jam, five minutes long, mixing some cool drum and e piano loops with my own bass and synth solos. Cool. |

mine.. and a little of the fusion music that I used to listen to frequently.
You've done a nice job here making sure that it doesn't get repetitive
and remains fresh and interesting, both by mucking about with the
layers and the material the instruments are playing.
One thing I would like to hear, is that particulary with the synthisisers,
you're not using anywhere near the level of expression they are
capable of. Though the solos are phrased nicely (you obviously know
its not just the notes that count), theres so much room for subtle
effects such as pitch bend, modulation, using a wah or volume pedal,
... all of these would fit very easily with the kind of sound that you are
using here. Obviously too much and they could sound cheesy, but it
would a tremendous amount to the solos if they were added tastfully
and it sound like you a fully capable of this.
Another suggestion is with the epiano and what sounds like a jazz
guitar... put a few more chordal gestures in the solos... don't be
confined to one note at a time all the time.
Funky work, keep it up!
