Description:
This was recorded Sept 22, 2005 live with one mic in a tiny room...
This was a jam that started to stir into a song...this is a Polaroid of its birth.
The lyrics and music were impromptu...as Jared started running on a bass line...

The little rant at the end of the song was my way of telling the guys it was late and time to go home...

Ryan Chubb - Vocals / guitar
Barry Lane - Drums
Jared Puppe - Bass

Ideas - comments - criticism welcome...thanks for listening.

has a very "early U2" feel to it. Vocals are pretty good. Needs some
variety in the bassline and guitar parts. I think you're on to something
here - it definitely needs a little more work, but the basic concepts are
very interesting.

Absolutely..., this track needs clear boundaries and direction.
This is merely a Polaroid of its birth as we were jamming around.
None of has had ever played this before...the riffs and lyrics
were just thrown out there.
We are working on producing this further...using this track as a standard
for the feel and energy for the song...
Thanks for your comments...much appreciated.

Very cool &mdash 10/04/05 - 08:11:30 PM
I was jamming with a group last year and some of the best sounding stuff
was recorded just like this... complete improv and totally raw. This has
great energy and rocks out!

Hard to be overly critical of something like this... maybe as you develop
structure it a bit more... but I don't really think you need to. The song is
clearly driven by the solid, consistent bass line and the changes in vocal
and guitar pieces work nicely to balance the song out. Just needs a little
fleshing out. If I heard this played live in a club it would be hard to tell it
was improvised. Nice job!

Very cool &mdash 10/05/05 - 10:14:49 AM
Thanks Adam! This does need some fleshing out to make it more presentable...
We’re working on swapping out the small club sound for a more produced studio quality.
Hoping to still keep the rawness and the attitude.
We are learning a lot listening to how others do it here on this site.
Thanks a lot for your comments...much appreciated.

Hey &mdash 10/05/05 - 03:02:07 AM
The song sound nice but the cover picture look terrible! And your voice is terrible too. I did not mean it is suck but some how it is frightening me while hearing! Please dont record such song again. If you intend to post another song please listen to it carefully!

By the way, do you really know how to sing man? It is really terrific, especially the way you sing! Oh my god!

Sorry about the cover picture...I have no excuses for that...as for my voice
frightening you, the pleasure was all mine :)
...and to think, this was one of our happy jams...I can't wait to post our scary tunes...enjoy.
Thanks for listening and for taking the time to comment...and welcome to Macjams.

U2 comes to mind! &mdash 10/05/05 - 04:19:29 PM
Your voice reminds me of Bono. Nice tune, well sung!

You sing a little better than Bono &mdash 11/08/05 - 01:18:16 AM
I hear a little Jeff Buckley in your voice as well. I am very impressed.
Fully knowing what impromptu jams are like in ther studio, This is very
good good for a spur of the moment type thing. I find lyric ideas come
great when you are just spitting them out. I would make you my lead
singer in a second and settle on strictly guitars......wait a minute...you
are a rad guitar player too....man.

I love listening to art in it's infancy stage.

You got a new fan

Thanks, &mdash 11/08/05 - 08:15:24 AM
Thank you very much Chris Kevin...very well put - art in its infancy...not necessarily sure it is 'art'
...but in its infancy, yes!
To a degree, this style comes as a response to my last musical experience a few years back which was very structured, sterile, polished and used as a stage for another agenda – there was nothing wrong with that but my heart longs to just make music – to have a musical experience with friends aside from other more important aspects of life..
So here we are…3 guys who were friends way before we ever envisioned playing together…and on the spectrum between pure rehearsed/premeditated and spontaneous/cathartic we are definitely starting from the impulsive side and walking slowly towards the more refined.
We are enjoying watching this child grow…
Thanks for seeing through the roughness…(we will learn to cut diamonds)
Btw – we really like your tune Wave! – this is the stuff we are walking towards…looking forward to lots more of your stuff.
