Description

Another studio recording. I'm building a deck and trying to get ready for a trip East, so I haven't had much time to get to Garageband. I'll post a guitar/voice arrangement in a week or so.

This tune is pretty self-explanatory. Just came out during a rocky period in my life: birth 'til present. You?

This is really good, Paul
Very pro sounding in every aspect. Great vocals, both parties, working
together seamlessly with the arrangement.

Simple, flawless. The atmosphere is well set.

By the way, if I asked my Marion if she could be the man for a while, she'd
say yes before I finished the question, and never, ever go back to being
the wife. Hell, *she* wants a damn wife...

Upon re-reading, I’m afraid my remarks about my wife may have come across as
flippant. They were not intended thus. This is merely the humor of a man who
has been married a long time. Without the proper context being set here, and
without my adding that in serious mode I most certainly identify with the
poignancy of the lyrics, well, I apologize if what I wrote was offensive to you,
Paul. The song’s quality remains unscathed and unaffected.

I love the way your guitar playing and voice lope along together here...

Lead vocals and background vocals work together solidly. I'm with
katchoolik on maybe a tad more bass, at least in MY headphones...

Nicely written, arranged and sung. The song has a lot of (male) heart...

Sad that i didnt find this great production until now! (I would have
helped it on the rating pics list)..

I feel great sympathy for the situation, (being a lonely father I can
sometimes feel some distress from allways having to be the grownup,
allways being responsible).

I like also your natural way of singin. Sounds very honest. The whole
song sounds honest...

This is my kinda stuff
You had me at the first guitar twangy acoustic guitar riff. Reminds me a bit of Peter, Paul & Mary, which I grew up with. I love this kind of stuff. I really like it when you put some force and a little vibrato into your voice in the chorus. I like it better than when you drift back into the more converational style (I wrote this after writing about on very issue in my post for your other song, but before I heard this one). Anyway, You have a really good voice. I have tons of stuff like this on my iPod.
