Description:
This is the last song in series of 6 that were written and recorded in one 24 hour period. It's part of a Pop Opera Musical Mini-Concept Album, entitled: Candle Wax.
...and now I go to play with my blue jello...

Lyrics:
I have to live with what I know
with this guilt slowly melting my soul
and with every day, I keep rotting away
until the rats make a meal of my bones
there's no place that I can call home
just these four walls of metal and stone
all this time with no sun
to think of what I have done
drives me deeper into this black hole

the price of a candle wax soul
is worth nothing, all of nothing
the taste of the sweetness to hold
is nothing, all of nothing

when death comes to swallow my world
will I remember the beautiful girl
that I killed in a rage
on that snow falling day
or will I pass quite unknown form this world

the price of a candle wax soul
is worth nothing, all of nothing
the taste of the sweetness to hold
is nothing, all of nothing

Thank you, oh Pie! Now then, when can you supply me with a brain, eh?

Terrific &mdash 10/02/05 - 05:32:51 PM
Great recording. Love the guitar mixture, the singing is swell. Like the
lead.
Sad words.

Great tune.

Well done!

Jeepers &mdash 10/02/05 - 05:33:21 PM
This isn't the fist song you ever recorded, was it? You are a very good
singer.

Immaculate.

Except don't clip the ringing reverb at the end!

Jeepers &mdash 10/03/05 - 03:43:38 PM
Thank you for the kind words.
No it is not the first song I have ever recorded.
Clipping he reverb thing at the end is just a matter of taste. I wanted to
emphasize that this guys world was very over...

vocal and guitar. Another i.spike download for me. Thanks!

Thanks! I'm always pleased when this makes someone's download list. That
means I'm actually in your home... by the way, were you going to eat that piece
of pizza or not? Do you mind...?

You can have the pizza... just make sure to leave some beer!

The King of Nothing is back &mdash 10/03/05 - 06:46:47 AM
I think a theme is unfolding in your music. Are you working on a concept
album? Oh, now I read you description and, yes, you are. Everything
works wonderfully on this track. The lyrics don't have the moment of
wonderful surprise all your other tunes share, tho. Did you ever listen to
Kevin Gilbert's last album (completed by his brother after Kevin's death)
that was a pop musical concept? "The Shaming of the True." Very cool
book comes with it. You should check it out.

The King of Nothing is back &mdash 10/03/05 - 03:53:46 PM
Thanks Tobin!
I have many themes continually unfolding. There are quite a few items that I
have not yet revealed (cue dramatic soundtrack...). My website is almost
finished and mysteries will be unveiled soon... (dramatic soundtrack builds...)
I will definitely check out that Gilbert album. I loved his stuff. Very strange, but
melodically and harmonically approachable and tasty.

Delicious &mdash 10/03/05 - 09:54:10 AM
Great rolling tune, disturbingly evocative lyrics, wonderful singing,
almost completely washes away the disquieting scent of aqua velveeta.
Bravo!

Drakonis

Thanks for the evocative comments and compliments.
I'm not sure if anything can really purge the pungent aroma, and taste, of Aqua
Velveeta... It is quite insidious...
What does "ttfn" mean? I am at a loss....

Back in the wide-eyed days of our youth, there was a story of Winnie the Pooh...
and for some bouncy reason, I liked Tigger's goodbye, which wasn't quite a
goodbye... "T.T.F.N., Ta Ta For Now!" And it being much more unique than say,
"L8R", I adopted it, and it has been with me all my life.
ttfn,
Drakonis (there it is again!)

Green jello... &mdash 10/03/05 - 09:34:46 PM
Not blue!
Just an awesome song here--but you know what I think of your voice/songwriting ability.

Let's discuss this jello issue further, however.

Peach?

(nice work...very well done! ;)

Got a good Chris DeBurgish vibe going on there. Especially liked the
ending.

sharing this and enriching my music collection!

unbeleivable &mdash 10/25/05 - 03:44:50 PM
that you could have recorded this much in a 24 hour period of inspiration. As far as the song...the soul is worth nothing but the guilt is still there.

Thanks Birdman! It's nice when someone comes by and listens to an older tune.... I think it was feeling lonely until you gave it listen. Thanks for the kind words.

Harmonies &mdash 04/08/08 - 07:33:11 AM
Man! Your voice is a serious talent, and you've got the knack for blending it together. Excellent harmonies that just fit into each other, both musically and tonally.

Great tune as well.
