Time goes so quickly during these final moments, then he must leave with tears running down his war hardened face.
The commanding officer leaves, his lady gazes and cherishes the vision of those final seconds when he departs through the door into the night and dissapears ever so quickly.
The war is calling . . .

Thanks so much for being the first person to post to this tune.
This tune was excting for me, so much so that i could hardly wait to put new
strings on Betsy. Cause the previous version sounded flat cause of the old
strings.

awesome sound Bill, nice harmonics....
this is well played and sounds beautiful.
I like the drier sound....

Great sound and playing &mdash 10/06/05 - 06:16:45 PM
Thanks katch
Ys sometimes I over-do the reverb thing. I guess that is one of my temptations
in life. I think I only go about 1/8 reverb in GB2
Thanks

Sharper Sound &mdash 10/05/05 - 10:26:52 PM
Clearer and more distinct than first one. Excellent is the only word to
describe the song and your playing! [ Reply to This ]
Sharper Sound &mdash 10/06/05 - 06:14:22 PM
New Elixir guitar strngs helped, the bassy-ness sure goes out of the strings
when the get too used. It gives me more enthusiasm when playing as well.
I use medium gauge strings.

Another Tiler classic... &mdash 10/06/05 - 11:56:49 AM
I especially like the pacing of the picking here... and your
recording still sounds incredibly crisp. [ Reply to This ]
Another Tiler classic... &mdash 10/06/05 - 06:11:44 PM
To Stun
My recording are getting better I think when I cleard out a bunch of furniture
and object. On this one I change the position of my microphones. One that
record boomy sounds I put towards the bridge and other that covers more of the
treble side I put closer to the sound hole. Now that I think of it, that set-up
makes sense. But I still had to jockey the positions though when I did the
placements.
Thanks again

Beautiful, clear, sharp, strong &mdash 10/06/05 - 06:37:39 PM
Hi, I'm new to MacJams, listened to you from the recommendations of my friend, Ed, Ejh, and wow! What a lovely tune. The harmonics are stellar! Such a good use of them. I didn't hear the original, but this one is quite beautiful.
Someday, when I'm recording, I'll come back and re-read all you said about your mics, etc.
Thanks for the music.

Lovely Hands &mdash 10/06/05 - 09:09:07 PM
I've been playing guitar for about ten years, and you are one of the
finer players I've heard -- not to mention that you can produce a
classical track to near perfection. I like the way you resisted the reverb.
It sounds lovely. [ Reply to This ]

WOW. &mdash 10/07/05 - 01:11:43 AM
It is such a powerful sound. I like this a lot (and this is usually not my
genre of choice - but I do enjoy "all the meats of our cultural stew") What
a unique melody! Love the ending - very pro engineering too. Great job!
I'll have to check out more of your stuff!! [ Reply to This ]
WOW. &mdash 10/09/05 - 10:44:05 AM
Thanks, this tune took up a lot of time trying to figure out. It didn't come easy
for then. Then there was the string changing. Let alone the hours and hours to
work on a run that didn't seem to ft. And the list goes on and on.
thanks

Thank you for sharing, normally I'm not mad for classical guitar. This
piece is enjoyable, maybe a tiny bit rush. [ Reply to This ]

I tried to mae it fast cause the officer is a little pressed for time. But I can

Great work! &mdash 10/07/05 - 11:27:43 AM
This is the kind of piece that inspires. After 20 years of playing rock
guitar, i think i look into classical guitar lessons.
Beautiful piece. Great pacing. My only nitpick would be that there's a bit
too much reverb for my liking. You've played this so well, and a little bit
cleaner would have been perfect.

Brilliant Guitar &mdash 10/07/05 - 06:18:59 PM
Tiler you can play my friend and your harmonics are perfect. Not a
note out of place and even the fingers slides on the strings sound
good! You have always been so kind to comment on my music and I
have been remiss in not coming to hear you sooner. Forgive me, but
after hearing you play your comments to me mean that much more.
My wife even walked into the room to listen and was equally
impressed. I truly enjoyed listening. Look forward to more of your
music.-JAC

Born too late? &mdash 10/08/05 - 08:00:12 PM
You make these wonderful pieces of music tiler, and they're from an ancient time... You play them so well. Do you make them your self or is this a cover of an old classic piece? You play a stunning, clever performed guitar!
Super done! [ Reply to This ]

well played &mdash 10/09/05 - 10:47:30 AM
If you only knew the hours that went into this tune. To me I was tickled pick
about how unique i thought this tune was cause I never created anything like the
two versions. So many things went into this tune. Changin strings working so
many hours on getting a run that didn't seem to fit that I had to define.
Lot and lots of work on this. If I din't think this one was unique with all my heart
I would not of posted it I promise!

classical? &mdash 10/10/05 - 05:09:30 PM
I'd love to hear this on a classical guitar. The steel string is nice but I
wonder if a more muted tone might convey a little more emotion in
what is clearly masterful playing. [ Reply to This ]
Fantastic &mdash 10/11/05 - 02:21:42 PM
This piece is fantastic. I think the image that you are trying to express, of the rushed officer, is very well developed in the music. The playing is beautiful, the piece clever and well-written, and the quality of the recording is very high. It could easily be part of a movie score with the story that you've set up...
Is it safe to assume that you write your music at the guitar? Or do you compose on paper/piano at all? [ Reply to This ]
Fantastic &mdash 10/11/05 - 04:08:17 PM
compose on guitar, then add mididle pencil notes in GB2 such as Jampack 4 etc.
Thanks so much for posting
