Description
This is my first post on MacJams... it is a small (incomplete) piece that I think is cool... not even sure if it should have words yet. I'm just looking for some feedback on where people think i should take it.

I hope to get the songs available on my website re-recorded. It's great having an imac and broadband internet now!

enjoyed this
Love that piano work! Love the laid back feel to this. I am a sucker for that
type of sound.

Really a great start here. Hope you keep posting this kind of style or
similar I like the feel of it!

Good luck

Hope your stay here is a good one!

I liked the direction you are heading
If I could play as well as you do, people here would like me better....
No, I think that I could better communicate to them the finer nuances
that you seem to have the chops to communicate.

The direction that I would head with most tunes, is to figure out what it
is that you'd like to say, figure out a phrasing and melody that would
best portray this story, choose the lead instrument(s) to best fit as lead
narrator of this story to play it... Next, choose the accompanying
instruments to have each help to tell this story in a supportive way. Try
to understand more about song structure and the different types. I
build tunes around chant phrasings and each tune has a slightly
different, but same structure of which they are built. I'm sure that
most don't know this, but it is not necessary.

However, listen to TheTiler, Alimar, JGurner, Ejh, Jim Bouchard, IGM
Cameron and every single artist on on my Fav list. They are all the best
story tellers here. There are other's two, I just haven't caught up to
everyone yet.

It seems to be, that there is an interesting story to be told in what you
have, it just needs to be organized, not unlike as I've laid out above.
Others might have a different approach that will be even more helpful
I'm sure, but I would try it as I stated above and see what happens.

You have a unique blending of chops and ear for music. There is a
place here that is meant for you only. It will be fun to see how this
develops.

Good luck Dave, I can't wait to hear what you do.

Thank you, I really appreciate the comments you guys have given. I agree with what you said too, with the structure and the fact that I am a story teller. I write different styles per say, but I do have a core style or way that I write music or lyrics. I always try and find flow in some fashion... music just seems heartless without it. Again, thanks for the comments and I'll be working more on this and other pieces...
