Description
I haven't had time of late to construct anything new, so I went into the vaults and pulled out something different.
This song is an intentional collaboration between Travis Carter and myself; an experiment as is everything I do. I layed down the bass and percussion using loops. Travis then came in and listen to the track a few times before laying down his guitar live while listening to the track on headphones.
Since I have absolutely no equipment except for my imac G4, we placed his amp in front of the condenser ( or pinhole) mic on the screen and recorded it strait into GB.
This gives the track as a whole a sound that is somewhat muddy, but in the end we decided that we liked this sound. That in fact the track sounds like it could have been a recording of a band live in some bar with poor acoustics. Since the guitar is live, and this includes the multiple guitar tracks, the song almost is a live recording.
Musically it is a bizarre melange of form and freedom, of jazz and blues, of drunk and sober.

That is some crazy guitar playing. It sounds excellent the way you've
recorded it. Who would have thought that the condenser mic could do
such a good job with guitar tone? There is a very Frank Zappa thing
going on here for sure. One critique I would give is to suggest the you
hone the craft of songwriting more. Your music needs dynamic and
movement to give your music more long-term listenablilty. Right now,
this feels less like a song, and more like a platform for a very cool
guitar solo. Still very good for what it is.
