Description:
This collaboration was initiated by the exceedingly talented cjhoose (make sure you check out her stuff).

The track began with CJ experimenting on a Mini Mac using GB2 and was then passed over to for me to add some fiddle. This was my first MJ collab and to be honest I found it quite tough - especially as CJ's music seemed quite complete to me already.

For my part - I used my trusty Ted Brewer electric fiddle with ZoomPlayer 1010 effects unit and iMac G5 running GB2.

Thanks for dropping by IGM - spent a lot of time trying to get the mix right,
glad you picked up on the dynamics.

Love the way &mdash 10/10/05 - 03:50:20 PM
... the fiddle breaks out at the end with those tablas and the bell. It's
like it was leading up to that point...

That's exactly how envisioned it - I had a kind of story in mind to shape the
track but I won't let on what it is 'coz it's a bit trite...

Nice one &mdash 10/11/05 - 04:52:29 AM
Dark, atmospheric and original. Nice combination of instruments.
It really comes together in the last minute or so when the fiddle
gets more lively. Great stuff. I'm a jealous pagan and I'd certainly
dance to it.

Nice one &mdash 10/13/05 - 06:09:09 PM
Thanks Rebsie - interesting piece to work on, the underlying structure was CJ's
and basically I exagerated it. It was fun building it up to such a climax

Clever title :)
Really liked the phasing effect on the fiddle. Gave it a mystic feel.
The final bit gave me goose bumps. Excellent fiddlework and great
accompanying percussion.
Nice to be welcomed back home with such great tracks!
Excellent work!

Welcome back Einar! The title was CJ's and actually I'm accompanying her
percussion rather than the other way around! Glad you enjoyed it.

Nice Build &mdash 10/12/05 - 05:46:30 PM
I recognize CJ's drum style right from the start. The fiddle sounds cool
also. It builds and progresses nicely. Some say it sounds eastern, but I
think it sounds Celtic? Especially at the end. Cool title.

You're right there's definitely some Celt in there particularly the fiddle line at the
end which is effectively a Scots style reel - incidentally I'm going to take this
phrase and turn it into a longer tune which I'll post at some point. Can't speak
for CJ but this track was never ever eastern in my mind.

Nice Build &mdash 10/13/05 - 06:14:38 PM
CJ's percussion is excellent - going by my experience it must have taken a bit of
time to get that right.

This is cinematic stuff &mdash 10/13/05 - 08:04:54 PM
The melody creates an energetic and a mysterious atmosphere for me.
The percussion was very interesting and well played.
I'll download this thankyou very much.

See, this is why.... &mdash 10/19/05 - 05:44:29 PM
I didn't do anything with it, CJ - you two did someting much better than I could have added to it with vocals! Well done!!

Would make a great soundtrack! &mdash 10/22/05 - 08:13:22 AM
This is a really nice piece. I like the phased fiddle sound ( reminds a bit
of the violin on 'Out of the Blue' by Roxy Music at the beginning)...this
has a really moody Celtic sound to it...Celtronica?
Nice one guys!

Just listened to 'Out of the Blue' for the first time in about 20 years - never
realised that was a violin but having listened again it so obviously is! Thanks
for reacquainting me with Country Life.

Celtronica - hmmm that's a thought - you may have given a name to a whole
new sub-genre!

cool &mdash 10/26/05 - 04:32:11 AM
this is a cool song, nice fiddling around,
now all you need is a ton of mean distortion
and this puppy is it.
enjoyed listening to this.

Cheers

Wonderful, creative track. Your collaboration is a total success. Many
well-integrated elements present, each of which contributes to the sound.

Congratulations.

Thank you &mdash 11/01/07 - 05:19:13 AM
Your comment about revolution made me listen to this track again (haven't for months) I think I know where you're coming from and also it's made me realise that another collaboration with CJ is long overdue!
