Description:
Well, this is an unexpected song from me. I have for a few days tried to learn to play the piano, and hole bunch of other instruments;). It has been very hard work, and i probably sound better with only my guitar, but it is cool to try something new! I am not used to mixing more then to guitar and 2 vocal tracks, so mixing a 13 track song was very hard work, and the job is probably not done as good as it can be, so any production feedback are most welcome!! And al other feedback is also considered valuable!!
Lyrics:
a word isnt always what you need
sometimes the silence makes me breathe
breathing out load in wide open space
screaming of joy, by the sight of your face
nothing must change
A word isnt always the good deed
sometimes they even make me bleed
bleeding inside and leaving a trace
screaming out loud by the things that you say
nothing must change

wow &mdash 10/12/05 - 10:30:32 AM
that's pretty darn impressive for "a few days" worth of practice! I thought the mix sounded great overall, good tone across the board, except for the bass which had a strange sound, to me, on the inital attack - but I only hear it when the bass note is played in isolation a couple of times during the song. Lyrics are really good & you have a very nice sound with the vocal. If I can compare it to something, it reminded me a bit of Pink Floyd, a very Roger Waters sounding vocal line to me from around the "Animals" era. Great job, look forward to hearing more! Nice mix of instruments, good vocals - and beautiful lyrics as always. I
like the rhythm. [ Reply to This ]
Sweet &mdash 10/12/05 - 06:39:06 PM
Nice and calming. Nice piano, considering the practise.
Nice to see you trying out new things - it worked :)

Color me impressed &mdash 10/12/05 - 07:16:09 PM
A little practice goes a long way, and if this is what you come up with
after a little bit of practice, I can't wait to hear what a whole lot of practice
brings. Lovely song, with or without all the extra instruments. You get a
nice thick rich sound with the pianos and the strings. The layered vocals
also sound great. [ Reply to This ]
Nice new mic! &mdash 10/12/05 - 07:23:06 PM
Awesome vocals, nice layering, right on top of each other...nice and
tight...
Nice hearing the bass in there, too...
It's got some of that "Strawberry Fields"/"I Am The Walrus" thing going on
in the backing tracks...
Good job, my friend!

Piano a nice touch &mdash 10/12/05 - 08:39:53 PM
hard to believe it only a few days of learning! At first I was thinking the
vocal was too loud and then I realized it's what makes the song so
appealing. Yeah- I was wrong. This is a very beautiful song.
The piano bit sounded good but I wonder if you might want to use it more
sparingly instead of througout the song- I don't mean the rhythmic
chords at the very beginning but where it's used more as a lead. Maybe
just during the chorus ("and nothing must change") parts. [ Reply to This ]
I Like the Piano &mdash 10/16/05 - 12:38:37 PM
Very interesting mellow piece that seems to go from your inner space
to outer space and back. Vocal just seems to float. I love it when
someone can come up with a unique sound! [ Reply to This ]

awesome for just learning the piano - i can play a bit, but never can get
rhythms right for some reason... granted, i don't lock myself up for 48
hours. but still.
great song and lyrics and performance!
glad you're experimenting with more than the lo-fi guitar only stuff. i
love that stuff, but it's good to push ourselves now and then. now if only
i could take my own advice! [ Reply to This ]
nice sound &mdash 10/22/05 - 07:09:34 PM
reminds me of donovan plus "Kings of Convenience". I agree about some
Floyd influence too. I'd work on intonation, especially at the end of the
song, and a more in-tune guitar would help loads. but keep those vocals!
very good! [ Reply to This ]

the vocals are calm especially in this track. it has an enchanting feel to it. i like the addition of piano. the lyrics are rather poetic. this one sounds really well produced to me/ [ Reply to This ]
