Description:
I really don't know what genre this song belongs to. As an instrumental, it is an awesome classical piece with a twist of new age and rock. Ben also wrote all the lyrics, which amazingly went very well with the plaintive yet energetic pace of the song. I couldn't say no to Ben and felt really honored when he asked me to sing it. I had to come up with a really dramatic style and vocal arrangement to give even a measure of justice to this song.
Pls go to Walkingstick's homepage to listen to the original instrumental... It's a totally different experience without the vocals!
Lyrics:
TIME (with vocals)
Melody, lyrics and instrumental arrangement by Audiologic; Vocals by Leon
1)
Time, take time
to watch time go by.
Take time, take time
to watch time go by.
to watch the world go by.
to watch the stars go by.
to watch time fly.
REFRAIN:
to Sit and watch the cars go by.
and Sit and watch the planes fly by.
and Sit and watch birds swoop by.
and Sit and watch the clouds go by.
and Sit and watch the grass grow up.
and Sit and watch the sun come up.
and Sit and watch the wind pick up.
and Sit and watch the storms build up.
and Sit and watch the rain start up.
and Sit and watch the leaves float up.
and Sit and watch the dew form up.
and Sit and watch the time pick up.
2)
Time, take time
to watch time, time go by...
CHORUS:
Oh and tell me why
why is time not so kind?
Oh and tell me why
why does time leave us behind?
Oh and tell me why
why does time loose his mind?
3)
Oh and take time, take time
to watch the world go by
Oh and take time, take time
to watch your life move by...
(Repeat REFRAIN)
4)
Time...
Time, take time
to watch time, watch time fly.
(Repeat CHORUS)
5)
Oh and take time, take time
to watch your life move by.
Take time, take time
to watch time go by.
to watch the world go by.
to watch the stars go by.
to watch time fly...
(Repeat REFRAIN)
6)
Oh tell me, tell me why
does life fly by?...

Good job! &mdash 10/12/05 - 01:09:10 PM
Leon you did a good job with Ben's song! Sounds lovely. Reminds me a
bit of 60s rock. Ben, those lyrics are beautiful. Simple and effective.
I thought I heard some peaking in places but maybe that's just my
cruddy earphones. [ Reply to This ]

Credit goes to Ben for coming up with a wonderful composition that I have an emotional connection to and complements my vocal style. When I heard Ben's vocal demo for me, I wasn't sure I could do it. But the pace and the variable dynamism of the piano inspired me to innovate and stylize vocally and then it just came naturally after singing it a few times. Some parts do come out heartily loud, but with my Bose earphone, it did not seem to peak. Maybe I should tweak that a bit. Thanks so much for the kind comments.

You did an awesome job at this Leon. You weren't shy at all all and let
your voice come out. I like your song art also. Thanks for taking the time
to sing this. I had lyrics, but as only Leon got to hear, my singing was
horrible so I needed someone else to sing this. Your singing to this is so
expressive.
Leon is right, with lyrics and without lyrics are like two different songs.

Wow! &mdash 10/12/05 - 04:53:47 PM
Hey, back at you, Ben! This is your song, not mine, so the musical honors are yours and the pleasure of working with a great composer is mine. I have to admit, I am normally not this ecstatic about my own vocals (ha-ha!) but this one certainly makes me listen again and again and think if that was really me singing. I think it came out fine because you created an awesome composition for me to sing to!
By the way, your confidential vocal demo for Time is now on sale at record stores everywhere.

Regarding Ben's voice &mdash 10/17/05 - 07:11:10 PM
Hey, CJ... I have been sworn to secrecy about Ben's vocal talents. It's like the
ultimate weapon that shall remain sealed in a safe place and to be unleashed
only under the most critical of circumstances. Kidding aside, actually, Ben can
sing. He's just too shy to admit... or develop it.

Dramatic &mdash 10/13/05 - 11:11:03 PM
Very dramatic. THis is huge and powerful. Gorgeous music that holds
me. Some wonderful singing. I particularly liked the high, soaring parts;
that's where I thought it sounded best. The faster, more rhythmic vocal
parts at times sounded a little rough on the timing... at times. Still very
well done. Great voice.
Really a piece to be proud of. It has a theatrical aspect to it. As it
progressed I became more and more captivated by it. Great work, both of
you. [ Reply to This ]
very artistic &mdash 10/14/05 - 06:44:33 PM
now this is very original. i liked the piano with lots of delay effects.
the lylics has somehow spiritual and imaginary feels to it which went
really well with the piano sound.
great vocals as always! great collaboration! [ Reply to This ]
terrific vocal &mdash 10/16/05 - 11:27:04 PM
Powerful words, the music fits in perfectly.
That high pitch vocal is outstanding as well.
Like how the tune goes fast and slow, nice transition!
Lots and lots of nice stuff here.
Again, that high vocal is really unusually good! [ Reply to This ]
