Description:
I really love this Hymn and I wanted to share it with you all. I am using iMac's Built-in mic, so my vocal is not clear enough, and there are some noises, it's the Built-in mic so sorry... Hope you like it and enjoy listening to it!

Lyrics:
The Church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord,
She is His new creation
By water and the Word.
From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her
And for her life He died.

She is from every nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth;
Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses,
With every grace endued.

The Church shall never perish!
Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain, and cherish,
Is with her to the end:
Though there be those who hate her,
And false sons in her pale,
Against or foe or traitor
She ever shall prevail.

Very moving piece, Jam &mdash 10/13/05 - 07:35:55 AM
This is also one of my favorite hymns. Such a lovely one, and this
version of yours is heartfelt and moving. Your vocals are getting
stronger. I would like to hear you sing with a real mic! Also, your
English and enunciation are excellent. The rhythm (drums) on verse
three and the repeat of verse one is unusual, but grew on me.

The accompaniment has a MIDI sound that I think could be improved,
but again, the overall feel of this hymn is truly wonderful. Thanks for
posting it.

Your voice as said before is so true and innocent. Even though the music
has a "MIDI" sound to it as said by atwood, I like it a lot. The beats you
either selected or made worked out very well and sounded wonderful with
this piece.

And you are how old?!? &mdash 10/13/05 - 08:00:12 AM
Stunning voice - you did very well with just that built-in mic!

The instruments and subject make me think of this old tape of
Christmas music I've got, which isn't a bad thing at all. It's interesting
where and how you end the song... not quite sure how that feels.

Thanks for more.. &mdash 10/13/05 - 08:52:12 AM
of your beautiful and from the heart music. This, too, is one of my
favorite hymns. You sing it well and give it new life with your own
take. I am acquiring quite a collection of White Hawks tunes on
my iTunes playlist.... thanks,

Jack

I hadn't heard the hymn before.... &mdash 10/13/05 - 12:05:41 PM

Your vocals do sound strong and the backing arrangement is excellent.

Yes &mdash 10/13/05 - 12:31:31 PM
It is the first time hear it .. and Yes! I like it a lot too. And I like your way
of doing it. I am so happy to hear a very personal interpretation like
this ... it is so close and live. Feels like it makes me "know" you closer
than any picture can do. Thanks a lot!

Hey there, Hawks! &mdash 10/13/05 - 09:52:08 PM
I'm impressed with the greater strength in the vocals...sounds like
you're more confident, and it sounds like you're breathing all through...
puts more strength behind the words...

I will admit that I am still making my mind up on the drums... they
seem like they're working at cross purposes to the electric piano feel at
times... but I'm loathe to speak too soon... I like that you're trying to
combine a traditional with a contemporary feel....

And I'm with Mr. Atwood as regards getting you working with a real live
microphone... maybe one of those Samson USB mics, or stretch for a
Snowball mic...easy to use, but it'll sound as clean as your software
instruments... Maybe it's time to produce the White Hawks CD/EP and
sell it on line to raise money for Chateux Hawks Recording Studio,
LTD...

Coming back to the song, the important thing is conveying the feel,
delivering the emotion behind the words, and you always have great
feel in the stuff you do, pinhole mic or not...

And I'm so glad to be hearing another song with you singing!

It's about time you actually WROTE a faith-based song, methinks... If
you can do game soundtracks and movies, you could turn out a
hymn...

Okay, listen to me run on... Good job, Jem...

Thank you for this! &mdash 10/14/05 - 12:39:07 AM
Very well done, Jem!
You have a great voice, and you've done a really nice job with this
hymn!

I agree that you should consider writing a hymn of your own? :)
That would be cool.
Again, nice work on this. Thank you!

Beautiful.
Simplicity.
Gentle.
The melody rose from the church to the sky.

You have a rare talent &mdash 11/15/05 - 07:28:10 PM
I really liked your rendition of this wonderful hymn. You do need to get a
real microphone though. The internal mic does not do you justice.

May our Lord Jesus continue to bless you for bringing His Good News to
others.

Good &mdash 09/07/06 - 03:12:33 PM
It sound pretty good, but each verse has a 2 beat lead in, so you may want to try and move the drums over 2 beats so the drums match the music. I think it would sound excellent then.
