Lyrics
What's in the corner
under the rug
first you pushed-
then you started to shove?

what you hiding
up your sleeve
I've seen some ugly things

Take a seat
pull up a chair
don't mind the light
sorry for the glare
time for a little q & a
let's start with your full name.

Ugly things running round in
the back of your mind
Ugly things
in a closet
skeletons
are fine
Come on baby, you're safe with me
I've seen some ugly things.

Where's the line
between bad and good?
the one you'd cross if you knew you could
don't look away I'm not through
could some blood letting
might be of use

What you do and what you say
don't seem to correspond today
it's black and white
no the shades of gray
no one's looking when
we turn away.

chorus

Watch your back
it's dog eat dog
pass the buck
it's someone else's fault
point your finger
say your prayers
toll the bell
someone else is dead

No one lifted a finger
no one made a sound
no one heard you baby
when you hit the ground
Come over here
you're safe with me
I've seen some ugly things.

Cool stuff
Sounds a bit like a mix between Kristen Hersh & P J Harvey, which is no
bad thing!

Another good piece of songwriting from you.

Guitar sounds a little rough and the vocal somehow muffled - is the
mic round the wrong way?

Cool stuff
I'm not having much luck in the mixing department. And my guitar is always
a bit rough--I wish I could say could tell you if my mic is rounded but I'm not
sure what that means...please enlighten me! I'm here to learn!

Cool stuff
I looked up the mic and it seems to be a small diaphram mic. Try altering
your proximity to it, to get a clearer sound. Maybe you are just a little too
close to it.

Ideally, a large diaphram condenser is easiest to work with for vocals.

i gotta say, it's refreshing to hear an exceptional
female voice without anything getting in the way.
nice words too.

I agree...
...with the earlier posts about the vocals. Your voice is so pretty, but it
seems to be muffled. Cool song though. Dark and a little scary?
