Description:
Something I'm working on. Yea, I finally joined the online music community.

Lyrics:
I’m saving up, one dollar at a time
Got to achieve at least one dream of mine
Didn’t want to leave any bodies behind
Only fools are too kind, I find a wide line

Between friendship and acquaintanceship
Why should you skip the apprenticeship
Back in the day to you I wasn’t shit
Now you want a free trip, and I won’t allow it

Chorus:
You missed out,
Can’t you see the joy on my face as I say it to you.
And now, there’s no doubt
I was the one going somewhere out of us two.

I’m coming up, taking one day at a time
In my prime and I’m ready to shine
I’ve been inclined not to give you the time
You’ll hear it from my mind Not through the grapevine

You’ll find it purest when it comes from the source
I reassure you I’m not feeling remorse
Your signature never had any worth
You got me three times there will not be a fourth

I’m getting out to one person at a time
A new design that your mind can’t define
you fall behind cause you’re scared of the grind
Have I just lost my mind or did you say your “kind”........Ha

That ones always been good for a laugh
When your mouth writes checks that your head can’t cash
When your out gunned, out smarted and out classed
You better pray to your god that you don’t cross my path

great lyrics and delivery &mdash 10/19/05 - 08:02:10 PM
You've got a way with words...lots of street-smart phrases
playing against each other, nicely rhymed. The dynamics of
your vocal delivery are perfect to my ear...for example the way
you become a bit quiet on the phrase "...to one person at a time",
you leave dynamic room to build up later in the stanza. You save
the strongest lines for the last stanza ("When your mouth writes
checks that your head can%u2019t cash; When your out gunned, out
smarted and out classed
") which I like because the ear still
gets new tasty treats as the song progresses.

But I think you know these things already...they're not accidents.

I look forward to listening to and learning from more of your stuff.

The ending was abrupt. Did that work out exactly as you planned?

Thanks for that review &mdash 10/19/05 - 10:03:12 PM
I couldn't ask for a better first comment. Thanks for taking the time to listen
and comment.

I guess I forgot to put a decent end on it before posting. I just figured out
how to convert to .mp3 on iTunes and I was eager to post something.

finger-snappin grooviness. Nice easy vocals, really dig that singing. The song could stand to be broken up a bit with changes, to punctuate the difference between the verses and choruses for example.

Thanks for the feedback. If I was a better musician I'd have some fills.
THanks for the compliment on my voice.

Groovy! &mdash 11/28/05 - 02:29:41 PM
This one grooves and I like your singing. Sounds simply good.
The end is like "sudden death" but that is an interesting end for a song
like that. Go on!

Groovin' &mdash 12/24/05 - 02:00:30 AM
Love the feel of this track, it really swings and makes me want to dance.
Love the pacing of the verses but as someone mentioned it feels like there
needs to be something to differentiate the verse and chorus.
Possibly additional percussion {tambourie perhaps?) or a vocal harmony
that lifts the overall tone of the chorus (to me it really felt like the song
wanted to modulate to a higher pitch on the chorus, imho)
Nevertheless, I love the track and look forward to more....
