Description:
I wrote this a couple of weeks ago and my brother soon gave me an idea for a background story to it. When I was writing the text I thought I'd ask magullo if he'd care to collaborate. He graciously accepted and soon sent me an awesome guitar track. After listening to it for a couple hundred times I decided that the guitar tracks was too cool to drown it with badly recorded storytelling (I hope to post that one a little later (sorry, Caroline)). So here it is. All feedback is greatly appreciated.
Composed, arranged and final mix by Einarus.
Electric guitars and mixing of guitar parts by magullo.

Interesting combination &mdash 10/24/05 - 02:09:53 PM
I like the classic keyboard with the guitar, it goes together well. This one
is built up real well toward the end too. I hear a bit of modulation in there
too I like.

Cool harmonies. Excellent Guitar playing

like that synth on the right side &mdash 10/24/05 - 02:28:25 PM
around 1:47 the synth takes on a nice sound and gets abit of stero, then
countinues with a nice stero guitar effect mixed with other instruments.
You have some nice mysterious sounds but maintain a nice warm sound.
Which I love about the fact that has bit of terro feel but you don't get to
saddistic. Which is a way of saying that you have nice talent. You don't go
overboard with too much harshness and blot out all that terrifc melodies.
You keep it all in tact.

Great!

soundtrack &mdash 10/24/05 - 02:45:32 PM
I somehow think of a computergame - think it is goldeneye (James Bond) on Nintendo 64:) when listening to this...

Would make a great sound track to such a game.

Great hook-line or theme that the guitar and synth ends up doing together towards the end.

Professional done by both of you!

Nice piece &mdash 10/24/05 - 04:27:55 PM
I like the overall song it has nice energy and the guitar fits well with
your keyboard work. Also there is some intresting timing in places.
Very nice.-JAC

Pretty Cool tune Ein. &mdash 10/24/05 - 05:12:18 PM
Effects and production is nice.
The guitars are really great. Perfect Collab.
In my opinion, the drums could be a little louder, but I know you wanted
to showcase the guitars.

great sound &mdash 10/24/05 - 05:30:01 PM

rose. it has a hedwig kinda thing goin on. go toward the fear

Great collaboration... &mdash 10/24/05 - 06:28:17 PM
I like the drumming, I like the rhythm, and I like the momentum of the
piece...very late 70's, early 80's prog rock... The mix is good, the synth
and guitar tones and lines work very well together...

Nicely done, guys,

Ed

Nicely done &mdash 10/24/05 - 07:31:35 PM
Nicely played and nicely put together. The repetitiveness of the haunting
theme gets hammered home, but it never becomes redundant because of
the continued variations presented by both guitar and keyboards.
Structurally, the piano break is needed for a moment of relief, for a bit of
diversion, and to set up the dramatic reappearance of the theme.

Great combo &mdash 10/25/05 - 02:26:38 PM
of talents! David, that's more fantastic guitar playing and it fits just right. Your leads are great. And another amazing composition Einar! It's all very lively and engaging.

groovy &mdash 10/26/05 - 11:29:32 AM
I like the progression of the song. I especially like the piano coming
into the forefront of the song about halfway through.

pretty and sparkly! &mdash 10/26/05 - 04:38:29 PM
And gritty! Nice driving melody, wonderful orchestration, and superb
guitar playing indeed... great piano accompaniment. My only gripe is
that the whole thing sounded slightly overdriven, like many
instruments were clipping. It did give it a grinding gritty feel, but it
was almost too harsh sounding, not sure why. Didn't sound as "clean"
as I think it could have been.

gripping &mdash 10/30/05 - 09:59:17 PM
The strong hook, killer guitar, and intriguing chord changes make
this a very strong track. Once it gets in your head, it is hard to
get out... oooh, nice piano near the end...

Pink Floyd In Another Dimension &mdash 10/31/05 - 01:28:55 PM
It sounds like you took the notes from "Pigs" off the Animals album,
then kicked it into interstellar overdive. Very energetic and textural.
Supreme musicianship. Thanks!

interstellar overdrive could fit as title &mdash 10/31/05 - 02:51:36 PM
Totally agree with Paul_T about some musical memories that came back
to my mind while listening to that song. Very stimulating one. It has a lot
of energy and this is not easy to create in home studio productions.
Keep "energising" us !

solid upper voices &mdash 11/07/05 - 04:11:06 PM
i like the intro and the guitar is nice. I think the bass voices could be improved a little to make this a really solid piece all around./ As is, the guitar is obviously great and the effects are well placed.

Fantastic Track &mdash 11/09/05 - 07:50:52 PM
This song is great! Just my style too... kind of Liquid Tension/Dream
Theater type thing which I really enjoy. The other nice thing about the
piece is that the temptation with this type of music is often to shove as
many ideas as possible into, but you've managed to keep this song
interesting and just made good use of a couple of select ideas.

One thing you've gotta get rid of though is that Garageband snare. It
just doesn't suit the music. Unfortunately the drums don't quite fit into
that progressive genre. The kick drum really needs to be filled out I
think. Aside from that, you're not very far from a very professional
sounding track. Awesome work!

All levers forward &mdash 12/06/05 - 09:02:03 AM
Powerful! Pitched forward in my sporty '87 Honda Prelude, I ride this
sucker to the beachfront, slam on the brakes and go flying off over the
ocean. Who knows where I'll land? Iceland? Spain?

Bravo.

Great parts! &mdash 01/05/06 - 10:37:52 AM
Hey man, you have a great ear for chord structuring and melody. Great parts in this piece and the guitar soloing and chording is super strong. This is a wonderful track dude!

Sweet song &mdash 01/18/06 - 08:20:48 PM
Totally awesome I love it. It is mixed very well. There is an awesome melody . The title made me think this might have been a bad attepmt to make a scary song, but it definatly isn't "scary" and the title definatly fits.

Rock on! &mdash 02/21/07 - 02:39:13 PM
This is superb. Fantastic guitars and everything else, Einar. I've got to take my hat off to David if he added and mixed the guitar parts after you'd finished all your stuff. Your (plural) stuff blends together seamlessly. Fantastic. I'd headband to this if I wasn't so old (103 next week).
