Lyrics:
Now, Now, Now, Now
Never was the one to believe in peoples stories
But he always had a faith in love, not a heavy heart
Threw away the book when his pretty lady swore
i'm never gonna leave you, never gonna leave
crime & a shock, broke an innocent heart
from the first kind word to the final cry
when she finally said i love you babe
but take my hand and kiss it goodbye
hindsight is a funny thing
never going back again
part of the ride is the crash at the end
well he's lovin it now, but he was hatin' then
skip town and cried himself a river
till he landed in a city where the night life never sleeps
got himself a bed & a job and he swore
i'm never gonna leave it, never gonna leave
damn shame when the paycut came
and the rent was raised & he wasn't happy anyway
crooked his hat and packed his things
said i kiss this town goodbye
hindsight is a funny thing
please don't take me back again
remembering when he had no friends
well he's lovin it now, but he was hatin' then!

well... livin on the edge
kept him busy for a time
but the nights got long and the days seem to fade away
all his past trapped up inside
was never gonna leave him, never gonna leave
what a shock
when he stared it in the face
and he thought he saw god
though it didn't happen overnight
payback all the hurt inside
and said i kiss these blues good bye
looking back on ugly sin
paying dues to reach the end
and praying it's time to begin
the payoff now for the hell back then!

Damn Good &mdash 10/27/05 - 06:30:09 PM
She sure can belt. A little outside my comfort zone to comment
intelligently. I'd almost classify this as alt country.

I think this was professionally put together and you have a decent song. I
think this one could play on the radio as is. Blaine should at least grab it
up. Good stuff.

I had a similar thought, but there's not really a category for that style. Glad you enjoyed it & I appreciate the comment!

Take a breath! &mdash 10/27/05 - 07:33:39 PM
Nice! Great vocal and music. That lead guitar thing is getting better every
time. Rapid fire vocals tuckered me out. Good tune and a download!

It's a tounge twister of a vocal to be sure, but Amanda is fantastic & really makes the song. Thanks for listening Adam!

Poooootential &mdash 10/28/05 - 10:55:33 AM
Great songwriting.

I'd simply slow it down a tad so that the lyrics can be fitted in with more
ease. I'm focussing on you trying to fit it in rather than the content or
sound!

Tune that guitar as well. It's a little out.

Can you imagine that? I can! Now you rock my socks!

Well... i appreciate the feedback, but the way it is is the way it is.. I didn't write the lyrics & the person who did wanted them fast, so they're fast. Guitar is tuned but had a kind of leslie effect on it. Thanks for listening.

yes! &mdash 10/28/05 - 11:14:53 AM
First, I love the guitar tone...it tickles that magic "rock-on, brother"
nerve in my brain.

I had my eyes set on the lyrics to follow along, and felt like
I was swept away as the vocals carried me faster than I normally
read. I can see what Candorwein was saying about wanting the
vocals to fit in with greater ease, but I can also appreciate that
the theme of the lyrics is kind of a warp-drive trip through an
entire relationship, so it really should be the way it is now.

Great collab!

re: yes! &mdash 10/28/05 - 11:20:52 AM
Thanks for the feedback! I feel more like the caretaker of this song than anything else, as it's been following me around on a vodka soaked cassete for 13yrs. now. I think I've finnaly got a version that does it justice & is what we might have done with it back then if we could have. Thanks for listening!

Edge-of-town blues &mdash 10/31/05 - 03:09:01 PM
I'm driving out of town fast in my '63 Biscayne. Wait...not moving
spatially...moving temporally...I see old rockers flying by my window
(just like in the Wizard of Oz tornado scene)...there goes Janis Joplin on
her Moped. The singing is almost too fast to comprehend but the
driving spirit of both vox and instrumentation keep me in the groove
from start to finish. I like it. The sound contour is just right....ready for
radio play.

Well, anyone with taste enough to be in a '63 Biscayne is a cool daddy-o in my book.. That ya liked the song, man that's just gravy. Thanks for listening!

Belting! &mdash 11/01/05 - 03:41:54 AM
Amanda has such a powerful voice - which still comes through despite
the fact that the lyrics are so dense the words almost trip over one
another. The guitar sounds a little muffled to me and I would suggest
drawing out the ending a bit (maybe repeating the last line...) Playing,
lyrics, singing tho' are all great - well done.

OK...back away from the mic &mdash 11/08/05 - 11:18:30 AM
and take yourself a deep breath. Nice rock tune...really dig the bass
and vocals on this. Has a real nice groove.

Regards
John

I like it &mdash 12/06/05 - 03:17:31 PM
Hi all - just starting in here so don't take feedback the wrong way. (And mind you, I never give feedback on songs that aren't at least 90% great!) So, anyway - love the music, the melody the lyrics and Amanda's singing.
I'd recommend stretching out your chorus... in fact stretch out "Hindsight" to a couple of syllables and slooow down so we can all enjoy the message in the chorus - and catch our breath before the next verse.
