Description:
Well, i published an unpolished version of this song last week. This is a polished version (according to my standards ;). As always there are probably still a few issues. I have been working very hard to improve my accoustic guitar recording! I think it is a soothing and beatuful song...What do you think?
Lyrics:
I am surethat noones gonna come
Theres no cure
when youre all alone
You didnt seek or try to find
the one thats on your mind
you didnt try to understand
when somene reached out a hand
You didnt mean to say goodbye
You never to wanted them to cry
You didnt mean to say goodbye
You never wanted them to die
I am sure
that noones gonna come
Theres no cure
when youre all alone
You didnt seek or try to find
the one thats on your mind
you never tried to understand
when somene reached out their hand

Nice and calming! I spilled a cup of tea on the dog over this one! He was mad but the song made us both very happy! What kind of mic are you using? A better mic can always help your sound! Some of the second solo style guitar parts are a little off key in spots otherwise very cool!

Smooth and claming. I really like the sound of the vocals. Your vocals are
always pleasantly understated. They don't reach out and slap you, they
just sort of glide in throught the headphones. However you recorded the
accoustic guitars sounded pretty good to me. I did notice the bit Biz
pointed out, but, to me, it's a minor fix. Really like the tune.

I think that this is an improved version...you have added to it but still
retain the great intimacy of the performance. I think that the acoustic
guitar sounds are great although are a couple of slightly fluffed notes
on the lead bit (get me...Mr perfectionist..as if!) which you could redo.
The vocals...as ever.. are fab. I think you are one of the best singers
on this site...you know how to 'inhabit' the songs which is very
important.
Nice one!

Allways like the stuff coming out of your song factory, this on is no
exception. 'Not to be Found' has become my official grey day anthem for
2005. Fab stuff.

...your productions are getting smoother...
I know you like the lo-fi thing, but I think your recordings of your
songs are becoming more conventionally accessible, while still
retaining a rough charm... In my book, this would be all to the good...
The rhythm guitar has a a phasey/thin/out of tune quality that reminds
me of demos of John Lennon doing "Across the Universe"... works for
the intimate vibe of the song...
Your voice is naturally good... your doubling technique is getting
smoother and more polished...
The only rough thing that detracts for me is when the lead guitar bits
go off tune. I think it's be worth another track or two or take or two to
get the lead a little stronger... Again, we come from different places
musically, but that would be my thought...
Always a pleasure to hear what you're up to...

i just wrote this long comment, and it did not post....
so here is the short version..
very nice job on the vocals,
the guitars need work, some timing and key issues.
Very soothing feel indeed.
Nice job.

Really liked the feel of this one, sounded very good on the speakers vs. headphones so I didnt hear the the issues that Biz. spoke of. I thought the acoustic had a great sound & the vocals were very nice. D/L 'd! Thanks for sharing!

It reminds me of late nights not wanting to disturb the sleeping family - and just carefully whisper and play really soft to record a new "hit song":)
You did a great job polishing the first take on this.
Just getting better and better Selters:)
This is a beautiful song indeed!

a wonderful voice you have. The guitars sound wonderful, kudos for a
great production...

love the whole feel of this. of course, joan could find no off key issues!
on speakers this fills the room. music belongs in the air. not confined
to an ear canal.
thanks selters!

Good stuff! what a soothing voice :-)

Wow, I love finding a song that makes me feel something. Even if it is
loneliness. It's like third party observational, not "I'm so lonely", boo-
hoo. What a classic song. Keep it up.

...but sad lyrics. I enjoyed this so much I played it several time over. The
guitar is nicely understated, easy going and very jangly - nice to hear a
bit of tamborine too.
Not sure that I agree with EJH here - I don't have a problem with the lead
at all for me it fits very well.
A goodie - thanks!

So warm and soothing.
Great production and performances!
Great stuff!

Still like the song. Your voice is recorded better but the first had it's
own ambiance also. So I like them both. The lead guitar does miss a
few notes here and there but I'm one of those guys who say every song
should have a few missed notes so you know it was done by a person
and not a machine. I guess that is why my icon is a dinosaur-rapidly
becoming extinct.
This is superb! Sounds very professional. Definitely soothing and
beautiful. Loving your voice!

Very nice and mellow. Like the guitar playing and the vocals are great.
The mix is just right other then the end which is a little ruff. Nice
piece.-JAC
Thats nice

Voices soft as a lullaby. Nice song before going to bed, but nice for
waking too !

Gee's slow feel in the singin. Very cool!

This song has a soothing meloncholy sound that I just love! Great song to
calm down to after a long day. The solo was a little
off key, but besides that, it was a wonderful song!!
Macaudion
This is good. You and EJH have a similar sound. He's one of my fav's
here...

selters

always love it when you post something new - wish i hadn't taken so long
to get to it.
i also never know what to say when leaving you a comment other than it's
great! it gets repetitive i'm sure, but when you just keep giving us great
stuff, it's all i'm going to have to say!

hey selters...
you're gonna love i think!
...such an easy going groove...like Donovan. You have a deft touch
with singing, playing and mixing.
screamalexz
once again, i love your voice. ive heard this one before so dont know why i cant find a comment by me. i love this, love the lyrics. you're now officially one of my favorite if not favorite macjams artists i simply love your singing.
This mellowed me right out. Good lyrics with a nice simple message. I
liked the flowing chord progression as well. And last, but certainly not
least, the real reason to listen to Selters: YOUR VOICE! Love your singing
friend.
Be well!
drakonis
Tugs at the emotions... nice lyrics, but great great song. Good singing
with this. Need a longer sustained arpeggiated final chord on the ending.
