wanton offence (7)
Description:
tired of rehearsal rooms and amplification, we decided in autumn 2004 to check out computer based recording software in order to realise our musical ideas. we had no specific style in mind, but after some initial attempts the whole thing turned out to be a mixture of sombre guitar arrangements and occasional tinctures of doom metal and eletronica. we tend to arrange our material with regard to female vocal parts that might be added in the future. unfortunately, we didn't find a suitable voice yet...

nice vibes. &mdash 10/27/05 - 05:43:43 PM
slightly melancholy. and even the word awkward looks.......awkward. to me at least. really nice subtleties you have backing you up. really nice changeup into the heavier section. the lead is almost 'the cure' like........ very very cool track.............. much respect - shawn

Ostfriesisch? &mdash 10/27/05 - 06:05:47 PM
Gotta admit, your name makes me think of the part of Germany my
mom's from.

Good guitars, really nice production. A nice dark, full sound. Aye, I could
hear a female voice with this...

Longing for Femmes &mdash 10/29/05 - 12:03:26 PM
Delicously sorrowful, introspective, and self-indulgent melody. Really
well-played, I like this. Sounds somewhat like varieties of darkwave
bands I've listened to. Some lamenting lyrics sung over this would be
great indeed. I think you could find a few females MacJammers here who
may like to collaborate with you here and add their vox. Good balance of
levels, except the drums may want to be recorded a little fuller, they
sounded a little "narrow" (need a little more bass/treble boost?)
ttfn,
Drakonis

Thx a lot for your criticism! I think we will give it a try and make the drums
sound fuller. To look here on macjams for a collab with a female singer is a
good idea...I will talk with my partner about this...

very cool &mdash 10/29/05 - 03:04:43 PM
Wouldn't change a thing. Everytime I started thinking, hmm - a change would be good - boom! there was a perfect one. Loved the melody throughout. This will be fantastic once you find the right voice for it, it's a great canvas for a telented vocalist to paint on. Thanks for sharing!

thx a lot, stevec. it's the first time we "go out" with stuff of ours and since the reactions are quite good, it won't be the last track we post here (we have just received a female vocal performance to our song - well, we'll see ...). cheerz, timo.

me of old &mdash 10/30/05 - 05:43:29 PM
Nice track! This reminds me of old 4AD sounds... Dif Juz maybe? I'd like to hear it when there are vocals, and not necessarily female either.

Yep, some 4AD- and early creation-stuff could be a reference here. I for my part think that the track sounds more like old LOW, i.e. on their very first album, spiced up with more modern rhythms and tunes. And when I think of LOW, it's not too far fetched to conceive female AND male vocals here. anyway, we can't do the job - so much is clear (would sound rather disgusting)! thx and cheerz, timo.

takes me to a familiar place. I am totally digging the dark ambience.
Super smooth transitions and terrific playing. Eager to hear more of your
music.
