Fantastic!!! &mdash 10/28/05 - 08:18:42 AM
First of all, it looks like some...moron...wandered through the new
songs list handing out 7's across the board. This is an incredible
arrangement of this delightful polka. Sort of like Isao Tomita and
Switched On Bach combined, but much better, Scottie.

I had to listen twice to hear everything happening here. When does
your CD come out and how can I get it?

I love Shostakovich &mdash 10/28/05 - 11:44:50 AM
I realize he's not everybody's cup of tea, but his work
is genius, in my opinion. His cycle of preludes & fugues
that he did to celebrate Bach's WTC I&II, in particular are
my favorites...as are his other cycle of preludes.

I really don't know much about his non-piano works,
though, and I had not heard this one.

I like it, and your treatment of it. Well done!

I am feelings that play in the amusement park.
Happy melody and rhythm.

great re-orchestration &mdash 10/29/05 - 12:31:39 PM
Unfortunately, whenever I hear Shostakovich's delightfully upbeat silly
works, I am reminded of his horridly miserable life, and that this was an
outlet for him. You took this already fun bouncy piece, and certainly
cranked it up a notch by your careful re-orchestration. Very nice choice
of instruments give it a 21st century smirkiness that I think Dmitry would
like. Awesome work Scotty!

This is great... &mdash 04/11/07 - 01:21:44 PM
...I love Shostakovich. Very, very nicely done. Besides the imaginative use of the instrumentation and the wonderful production; I'm just really happy that you chose this as a piece to work on and submit...

I'm going to rectify that "Voting" error from somebody past, right now....

He he he, I like this piece, and it's fun to play as well. Again, the midi synths work well, especially with something as purposefully bombastic as the piece. Enjoyed!
