Lyrics
It's so hard to make a living when you gotta shovel chicken shit every day
It's so hard to be religious when you gotta shovel chicken shit every day
It's so hard to be an American when you gotta shovel shit every day
It's so hard to be a human when you gotta shovel shit every day
It's so hard to pretend that you know what you're doing
It's so hard to be religious when you gotta shovel chicken shit every day
It's so hard to be an American when you gotta shovel shit every day
It's so hard to be a human when you gotta shovel shit every day
It's so hard to pretend that you know what you're doing

Either you are a drunk cowboy act or I'm a drunk cowboy (or both). The
lyrics are fantastic, especially the hall-of-fame line: "...It's so hard to be
an American when you gotta shovel shit every day..." How poetic is this!?
I think the song goes a bit out on the scale of disharmony at times - I
understand it's a part of the song and all but I would suggest cleaning it
up a little bit... :) It's a very good song really. The silent brake is cool... I
could see a video being made to this: a cowboy band on stage, people
slow dancing, very serious mood, one drunk cowboy is letting a few tears
out over the shoulder of his Betty... I think this is another song that
proofs JOAN rules.
