funk (175)guitar (875)jazz (385)horns (33)song (193)driving license... (1)
Description:
A song about love, hate, numbers and shhs`s and secrets...

Lyrics:
A sudden death would just remind you
Of all the things you have not seen
And some of them are just behind you
And some of them are just too mean

You`ve always tried to understand me
I`ve never known the reason why
My misbehaviour is not manly
But my rehearsals just a try

We`ve tried a lot to believe...

Dreamin` of the past is puttin` you down

You`re always tryin` to forget
- ignore
- get ahead
You`re always tryin`- tryin`

We`ve tried a lot to believe
(and some unbelievable secrets:))

This the song that you lost all the horns from? ;) Sound great.

The sound here reminds me a lot of Chicago (the band).

Great vibe &mdash 11/01/05 - 06:22:12 AM
You have a lot of good stuff in here. All quality, too. Great bassline and
vocal- awesome guitar playing- rhythm and lead. What did you use for
the lead? It's so crisp with a nice bite. Good song- d/l.

Terrific Control &mdash 11/01/05 - 09:16:01 AM
This song...every element is just perfectly balanced. I sincerely admire
the prodution, especially on the vocal.

Every now and again one hears a song on MJ that could obviously be a
real world hit. This is definitely one of those.

I'm really, very, very impressed.

As always... &mdash 11/01/05 - 09:24:37 AM
You are one of the most consistent performers. I had decided to
download this even before I listened to it, knowing the quality of your
work over the past months.

Love the guitar playing as always, and the vocals sound really good. With
your recorded vocals that good, I am definitely considering your advice
about the mic you recommended in the forum.

FUNKY &mdash 11/01/05 - 10:54:53 AM
Brass monkey! Very nice! You have a great voice for funk! I thought when I first heard the into it was Morphine! Slobble on funky monkey!

Way to groove it, I.G.M. &mdash 11/01/05 - 11:26:59 AM
Dammit, I love this sound. "Just [you] and some other stuff" make some
seriously great music. The changes are really fine. The harmonies are
gorgeous. Reminds me of Level 42. And I can listen to that groove all day
long.

More really high quality music from Ingo. No surprises there...

excellent production & song writing. really, my favorite part is that it's
just the right length. the song sets itself up perfectly & then doesn't over
do it, making me want to hear it again (& i did). the first IGM tune i've
come across.. i'll definitely be back for more. a really enjoyable listen

Cool! &mdash 11/01/05 - 01:11:41 PM
sehr gut!
very clean recording with an excellent mix...
Your stuff is the standard here!
Nice guitar solo...
this is kind of weird I know, but your vocal harmony in the chorus
remind me a little of 'Tears for fears'...
truly Well done...

Good job! &mdash 11/01/05 - 01:13:12 PM
I like it a lot. I would just change the vocal panning. I'd put it right on the
middle.

Like just before 1:30 &mdash 11/01/05 - 05:54:17 PM
the strength and depth of the bass, and lower instruments in that "tried a
lot ot believe" were there is very lush bass and related instrumental depth.

Nice singing on that especailly and other parts of the singing. Cool

Like The COOL Breeze &mdash 11/07/05 - 07:50:27 PM
Up and Gone. Felt Damned when it closed out.

Perfect Pitch. Perfect Balance. Laid Back with Big Push inside.

Each Element is used Gracefully and they are Geogeous.

Stunning. And a disarmingly Modest Present.

I liked it . . . &mdash 11/08/05 - 01:06:45 PM
from the get-go. Reminds me of early Billy Preston tunes (Outa-Space,
Space Race).

Vocals are very well written and performed. From a structure
standpoint, I like the space between each line of lyrics.

Boy, this is really CD-ready, to my ear.

Astonishing &mdash 11/27/05 - 08:41:40 PM
Beautiful production, great singing, and nice playing throughout. Love the
guitar sound (and playing) on the solo, as well as the little riff that runs
through the song. Professional is the word! Nice job.

Dude!! This is a completely professional piece of work, front to back.
What can I say. Great vocals, great production.
Guys like you on sites like this are going to take music out of the hands
of big business and give it back to artists.
Cheers.... Marcel.

Groovin' Tune &mdash 01/17/06 - 10:21:29 PM
One super tight arrangment and performance.

Great contrast of gritty funk with that smooth jazzy horn section.

Super cool tune!

Another keeper.

Thanks for posting, IGM

This is 1 smooth groove and vocals to boot. Sounds like Michael Franks
meets Steely Dan. Adding it to my favorites and would like 2 air it on my
show. Let me know

superb mixing &mdash 04/04/06 - 12:48:23 PM
I was struck with how well guitars are placed right out of the box, then
when the horns come in everything sits in it's own space.... a believable
environment... you,ve done this before... and you have great material...
no polishing turds here...

I like the groove you've got going on here - it has a Chicago Band feel to it - esp with the horns. Nicely laid out and it all works - good listening tune - great recording.

This one's cool.... &mdash 07/24/06 - 05:12:19 AM
and lives from it's clear and simple groove and arrangement, don't get me
wrong folks, the word "simple" doesen't mean "bad". Guitars are also
played good, but maybe you could get some things groovier and even
clearer to the listener if you cut out some notes in the singlenote guitar
lines (the little cromatic piece) which are not "really" in line with the beat,
and vary the horn sounds in the Ref. section, maybe whith some rocklike
guitarchords wich would be a better connection to the rough rockguitar
solo.
Cool vocals Ingo-man
