Forgive me father...for I have sinned...I just want to go home.... only a child...fight in the name of "freedom"...

Powerful stuff here ronnie, you cut right to the bone with this one.
And you state the case in the simplest most dynamic way. I'm with

BLOODY &mdash 11/01/05 - 12:40:00 PM
Moving my fickled fingered friend! That was a deep tune! LOved the piano parts and the voice! I felt like I was there with those cats fighting this ridiculous war for this fuckin idiot! I just can't believe what a state America is in right now? It's sad! [ Reply to This ]
Great work &mdash 11/01/05 - 12:58:26 PM
This is indeed touching ronnie.
You did good choices when arranging this piece, and created a mood very suited to the theme of the song.

Wow. &mdash 11/01/05 - 01:32:33 PM
Excellent &mdash 11/01/05 - 01:55:50 PM
Really well done, superlative! The distortion on the voice makes it sound disembodied, but that somehow seems appropriate. The pacing of the speaking reminded me of the voiceovers in "Apocalypse Now"...and the piano is really well matched to the concept. [ Reply to This ]
We live in Interesting Times &mdash 11/02/05 - 05:26:15 AM
Too interesting.
Very well done here and using a musical bed that I didn't expect. I
enjoyed the production too - it gets the point across without being
distracting. [ Reply to This ]

Good Work &mdash 11/02/05 - 08:32:37 AM
Nice sentiment. The war is forgotten but not gone. It has become just
like Viet Nam just part of the daily news that everyone now takes for
granted! The "shock and disgust" light show has now dimmed as the
grim reality that war always is has begun to shine through the vast
obstacle of major news media propoganda and the innocent/ignorant
minds of the majority. Let's bring all the troops home from everywhere
and spend all of those billions on alternative energy, cleaning up the
environment and taking care of our people. Seems like a small thing to
ask as it benefits everyone but the 5% who own 95% of the wealth in
this country. [ Reply to This ]

Great Track &mdash 11/03/05 - 12:20:08 PM
Very powerful &mdash 11/03/05 - 01:21:00 PM
I like how simple this is. There's nowhere in this song for anything to
hide. It is stark and very sad. I thought that if you doubled your voice with
an actual child's voice during that lyric it might have been cool.
This song is soundtrack worthy.
By the way, the intro sample of the machine guns, helicopter and man
shouting sound a lot like the opener of "One" by Metallica. I thought I
even heard Hetfield barking "move, move, move".
Did I hear right or is this another sample? [ Reply to This ]
Wicked. &mdash 11/03/05 - 08:17:25 PM
Ronnie:
You don't have to be good at an instrument to coax the magic out of it.
This is one gripping, well paced track. I'd hate to hear what it would
sound like if you were actually "good" at the piano. Awesome processing
on the voices. I thought the track was over then Bushie came back in like
a recurring nightmare. Whew. I might not sleep tonight. [ Reply to This ]
A great tribute &mdash 11/04/05 - 03:41:21 PM

Not the run of the mill &mdash 11/05/05 - 05:30:23 PM
RL tune. But man- this is really, really good. The simple piano line adds to
the drama of the spoken word. Excellent work... let's bring the troops
home soon. [ Reply to This ]
Dramatic &mdash 11/07/05 - 08:15:05 PM
Very powerful and moving. Excellent sonic palette -- muted yet really
seething with emotion. Exactly right. Perfect. Great. [ Reply to This ]
Metallica rocks &mdash 12/06/05 - 03:24:57 PM
Hearing the opening battle sounds...It instinctively got me singing the
opening notes of One lol.
Nice track, though. Definitely a sad vibe to it, and nice touch at the end
with Bush's voice: very creepy and evil-sounding. [ Reply to This ]
