Keywords:
classical (371)fanfare (5)jampack 4 (9)
Description:
It's a very short song(0:57), because it's the "Fanfare". Usualy, I use a lot of Garageband loops, but not for this one. I used "Music Typing". It's the first time composing "entirely original" song, so maybe some of the part sounds a bit wierd.

Thanks for listening and I hope you like it:)

God bless you all fellow MacJammers!

Some proper exultation here... &mdash 11/02/05 - 06:32:47 AM
...Hawks...you have a feel for awe and wonder and a tremendous sense
of the emotional content in the music. I think your lines and sounds
and your "musical thinking" are spot on, just exactly right.

I imagine that folks who are better than I with software instruments will
offer you some suggestions on that piece of things. I do notice that
some of the notes seem to "fade in" or "swell" in a way that doesn't
quite sound natural to brass. I don't know what that is, or how to
correct it, and it's not a big thing, but it's the only thing I hear that lets
me know that this isn't a real, organic recording.

Most of what I listen to in music, though, is a sense of truth in
whatever emotion is being conveyed. Your music has great emotional
strength, and I continue to think you must secretly be forty years old or
something.

There really does seem like a CD is in the making here... And, in your
mind, which of your pieces does this one precede or come after...where
does it fit in your "Field of Justice" series?

Another good one, Hawks!

Ed

Yay for musical typing! :D &mdash 11/02/05 - 07:30:51 AM
This sounds great! I'm in awe of your loop creations, but this is another
step up.

I'm with Ejh &mdash 11/02/05 - 08:47:37 AM
Ed has said much of what I would write, except for the part about you
being 40. I know you are a teenager, exceptionally talented.

The instruments here have a synthy sound in places, but that is not
important. Keep using GB and Jampack as a composing tool and don't
worry about the 'realness' of the sound at this point. That is really a
technical issue that, to me, is irrelevant. What is important is for you to
continue to develop as a composer: melody, harmony, emotion, color,
beauty - your voice!

Some excellent work here, Jemimah. My only suggestion is to think
about changing the end. This fanfare builds beautifully, but then
seems to wane a bit. Finish strong. Knock 'em dead!

Very well done. A great 1st composition. 9's, 10's.

I agree with the notes on the ending of your song... might use
something more dramatic...

Forget Loops! &mdash 11/02/05 - 02:00:12 PM
This piece is tremendous! You really should forget Loops because your
composing skills are very high.
One suggestion: If you use a midi keyboard you could play more realistic.
I can only recommend you to buy yourself a book about orchestration.
Then there are a few notes which don't fit into the style which is kind of
renaissance.
But you are really good in composing. I want to hear more!

Very good composition... &mdash 11/03/05 - 12:19:50 AM
...as others have said here.
It's fabulous that you are expanding to writing your own layers of sounds
now. You have a natural sense of how to structure and build a piece--
which shows in this Fanfare.

Looking forward to more compositions, Jem. Way to go! :)

nice &mdash 11/06/05 - 06:00:05 AM
I played in a brassband when I was somewhat younger.... This reminded me of those days...

You have the touch for making music for sure. Very well done:)
I'll be waiting to hear more original stuff from you:)

You have a new fan:)

Sounds great! &mdash 11/08/05 - 01:09:49 PM
Sounds like the music you hear when the Olympic athletes are
marching into the stadium.

Or perhaps you had Someone more important than athletes in mind?

:-)

Well-constructed and performed. Keep up the good work. And thanks
for your kind comments on my tracks.

John

Jemimah, I agree with Ejh, and others, that "...you have a feel for awe and
wonder...". Your composition skills are tops. You have a new fan!

Well developed melody.

This should be used to introduce the "MacJammer of the Year!"

Nice &mdash 03/17/06 - 10:57:35 PM
I listened. Then read the reviews. Then listened again. I can%u2019t see how
you could have done this without a midi keyboard. You had to use
something other than Garageband with jampack loops%u2026? Nice work
