Description:
This used to be a little a cappella tune. Jim Bouchard waved his magic wand and turned into a real song.
Please visit his artist page: http://www.macjams.com/artist/Jim+Bouchard
Lyrics:
I was so wrong
to do what I did
to say what I said
I was wrong.
I was so wrong
isn't that what you say?
when things go
astray?
I was wrong.
I was a fool
to think that
you would stay
not even a fool deserves
to be treated that way.
I was so wrong
I was selfish and cruel
not thinking about you
I was wrong.
And sorry doesn't cut it
and no apology
can undo
the heartache
caused by me
I was so wrong
as you walk away
the last thing that i'll say
I was wrong.

hmm &mdash 11/10/05 - 11:21:09 AM
the vocals seem a little too loud to me but that's just me, it has a nice sort of country vocal style. mixed with vocals from the movie grease, its pretty good song. [ Reply to This ]
hahaha &mdash 11/10/05 - 11:56:29 AM
Tickled to see this up here; after listening to it all last night (and many other nights as well), I actually still like this! One of my favorite records is Elvis Costello's "Almost Blue" album done in Nashville...so I was going for that kind of feel. I listen to it all the time, so I broke out my steel guitar and everything on this one. Classic Billy Sherrill was what I was going for in terms of production, given my somewhat limited Garageband facilities, it was just a vague semblance; something to shoot for, anyway...
Great drum loop arrangement that Kelli made to begin with inspired me at first, by the way, and I only had to paste in a few rimshots here and there because the snare was bit heavy in spots. [ Reply to This ]
Very touchy &mdash 11/10/05 - 01:55:50 PM
I like this, a lot. A good old fashion country tune, great vocals, lyrics,
arrangements and slides. The beat is very cool. Perhaps the vocals are
mixed a bit too high, I would for sure bring up the slide guitar a tiny bit
but this is just me being picky. Great song! I need a drink now!

classic country &mdash 11/10/05 - 01:56:12 PM
It's nice to hear a little country here, particularly in the more classic style.
Real nice performances. The vocals sound like they're at the perfect level
to me. There were a couple of moments where I though I heard some
kind of distortion in the vocals, but not any loudness problem.
Makes me want to have a drink and either sulk or slow dance... or both. [ Reply to This ]
classic country &mdash 11/10/05 - 02:12:06 PM
aha! good ears! I think Kelli was a little frustrated trying to get the vocals just right and indeed at times they peak out. I decided not to just cover it up with effects, but it figures that you could pick it out... [ Reply to This ]
Backwoods bars... &mdash 11/10/05 - 02:06:32 PM
I see the little log-cabin bar up ahead, with the neon Miller sign in the
window, and despite wanting to continue to drive past, I pull up and
come inside out of the cold. I'm pleasantly surprised by the warmth of
the band playing, and the heartfelt singing...
awesome job mixing these two things together, sounds like you two
had been practicing together for months, and it was a natural for you.
I'm glad I ignored that old dragon saying ("Country is for flying over"),
and stopped in for a listen!

fun &mdash 11/10/05 - 06:58:11 PM
This song tickles me too. Jim created exacly what I heard. The entire
feel works for me. It sounded retro and retro it is. I'm having a time
getting use to recording my vocals, what with all the settings and stuff.
I thought I clipped in a few places. Sometimes it's just a matter of
where I'm standing. I sure am having fun learning how to do it though,
frustrating as it may be. Working with jim is like a dream come true.

Me 'n' the dogs &mdash 11/10/05 - 08:25:30 PM
rolled down the windas in the truck and let'er blare.
At the risk of exposing myself, I love this stuff and you two do it well.
I'll bet you do just a fine job on Patsy Cline tunes. [ Reply to This ]

Great country song...an excellent vocal performance! Don't recall
hearing much actual country on MJ. What a great track - well done you

thanks a million &mdash 11/14/05 - 08:50:18 AM
Wow, I can't believe all the nice comments. Thank you all so much. I
am such a newbie at all this I can't tell you what your input means to
me. I did, in fact, try to channel patsy on that one. Actually, the form
is pure brenda lee circa I'm Sorry, right down to the bones with a bit of
Timi Yuro's HURT (this one is brilliant). Put these three together and
you'd get the sound on i was wrong. Actually, listen to those three
giants and you'll see how bad I suck; but listen if you get a chance,
even just by sampling on iTunes.
I feel so lucky to be making music this way, as opposed to in my
journals and head. This community rocks, I am constantly inspired by
all the great music. Best of all? It's free. Free to be what it is and free
to hear. Viva Macjams! And long live the macjammer. Make/set that
music free. MUCH love to you this day, kelli [ Reply to This ]

Aw, shucks, Mr. Curry, I'm just looking forward to the time when you're no longer temporarily passive...though I try to stay intermittently active myself, and that's "okay", there's certainly plenty of things to do! LOL [ Reply to This ]
So Sweet &mdash 11/20/05 - 10:32:39 PM
Beautiful classic female country vocal. Jim enhanced it just the right
amount but didn't overpower it. Love it!! [ Reply to This ]
