Description:
Merry Christmas.

Lyrics:
So, here we are together, one more trip around the sun.
Here we are together, another year is done.
But, though we are together, we are also here...apart.
A billion souls amd more, together longing for a single loving heart.

It's the heart that beats for us,
a beat that doesn't cease.
The arms that open wide, the heart that beats inside
The Prince of Peace.

Now, there are people we have hated, and people we adore,
in the people here around us, and those we see no more.
So, turn and look around you now, at the faces that you see.
The women and the men, are children once again, looking underneath the tree

for the gift he left for you,
the gift he left for me:
The arms that open wide the heart that beats inside
The Prince of Peace.

Oh, the gift he gave to you,
is the gift he gave to me:
The arms that open wide the heart that beats inside
The Prince of Peace.

The arms that open wide the heart that beats inside
The Prince of Peace.

An oasis &mdash 11/14/05 - 10:03:15 AM
Landing on this song was like finding an oasis of lightness and joy. So
clear, true, simply presented without sentimentality. Wonderful track.

A lovely Christmas present &mdash 11/14/05 - 10:00:08 PM
This is quite a treat.

Your voice shines, as always. The song has something to say and says
it in a way that makes it completely accessable.

The marriage of the vocal to the instruments works beautifully - you
certainly did not need a complex track to sing over for this song to
express itself. Just one that builds lightly, which this does.

Everything just works - all of it. Beautiful job, Paul.

A lovely Christmas present &mdash 11/19/05 - 08:31:27 PM
Futz!

Thanks for listening to this. When I emailed you, I wasn't fishing for a public compliment, but I knew you have musical duties in church, and I wanted your opinion. I had also worked hard on the mix and I know you'd pick up on problems. Thanks again for the kind words.

Heard this at the right time &mdash 11/22/05 - 09:56:59 PM
Stumbled on this. Glad I did. Not sure if I have heard any of your stuff.
This is an excellent piece, from guitar to vocal to lyric to heart and
soul. Since Mystified and I have been working on a Christmas CD I have
been paying more attention to songs in the "holiday" genre. This one
would have been a welcome addition to our project. A lovely, original
Christmas tune. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful &mdash 11/24/05 - 09:42:35 AM
Beautifully done. Perfectly sung (and I'll spare you the comparisions to JT).
Excellent lyrics. Sorry it took me so long to stumble across this gem.

Worthy of an encore &mdash 12/06/05 - 03:53:03 PM
Paul, I first stumbled across this on iCompositions, but when I saw it on
MJ I just had to chime in again. Wonderful composition that would have
been a great complement to the "Splendor Bright" CD from the Noel
Project.

A very merry Christmas!

Rick

Gosh, although I play this often, I realized I never commented on it when I downloaded it. This song really touched me last year when I first heard it. Thank you for posting it. I hope more people get a chance to listen to it this Christmas season.
