As always, great arrangement, production and performance. I love the
concept in the lyrics but I have to say it seems mismatched with the
music. Perhaps that's intentional, and it does add a quirkyness to it
having this clean, smoothe music and clear, fresh voice singing about
something much darker and greasy.

The music is great and the lyrics are really good; I'm not totally sure if
their pairing works as well as another could. But I do know that I did
enjoy it as a whole, so in that, it works very well.

Thanks for taking time to comment and getting exactly what I was attempting.
The vocal is a real contrast to the disturbing track. It's a man who's really never
grown up, and is still a resentful little boy. I intentionally tried to sing it without
too much bravado, and did not adhere to the notes as carefully as I normally do.
Kind of got into character for this one.

… and I actually think I heard it before he did… couldn't quite
decide what to say about the song but then Peter's comment
pretty much nailed it for me. The production/performance is
excellent as ever, no doubt about it. But the mismatch or
discordance of the song's style with its lyrics didn't work for me. I
now know, from your reply to Peter, that that's exactly what you
were going for, which is great, but for me it just doesn't mesh. It's
not that I don't like the juxtaposition of dark & light in general,
because that's definitely normally my bag, but here it just didn't
feel quite right and as pop music is 99% about how it makes you
feel when you listen to it I think it's an important point to make.
But I'm not faulting the overall piece of work just what I feel to be
an awkward mismatch in the lyrics & music.

Great vocals, excellent rhythm to the lyrics and your vocal delivery. I dig
the juxtaposition of cynical other-condemnation with the lightness of the
arrangement, which, to me, makes the singer slightly shallow in his
judgments, which works well for me. But I am listening as a musical
theatre guy who is always fitting a character to a song. Key change on
"dirt" is superb. The Pig Hearted Boy title is a solid metaphor, altho not
necessarily unique, but unique is overrated in pop music (which values
accessibility). The only phrase I'd alter is "they thought they were
innovators" which, perhaps, might be better as "self-advertised as
innovators" or something with a little more edge to the verb. Solid track.

I appreciate everyone's comments on this tune. I posted it because I
wanted to get people's gut feelings to an off beat song. I think MacJams
is a great theater for getting reactions, and to see if you are really getting
your point across with a particular piece of music. I had some hesitation
about posting this one, but after all your insightful comments, I'm really
glad that I did.
For me it's not about always posting your best work, but to show your
little monsters to the world to see how people view them.

It's a dark song with a dark mood. The offbeat sound, I believe, works to
the advantage of the song. Reminds me, in spirit, of the one track per
album given to Andy Summers or Stewart Copeland of The Police. They
were usually waaay offbeat, but they were great songs. I like this one a
lot. Fun weirdness,

Boy, this is weird. The music and vocals are great, really clear, and you'd expect an 'I love you, baby' lyric, which if you'd done, it would probably be crawling up the charts as we speak.

But putting this lyric to the music ... inspired.
This is a really creepy song, but poppy at the same time.

It's the uncle you've always liked as a kid suddenly touching your knee- type disturbing.

Chillingly great.

love the changes, tasty bass playing. if your doing all the parts yourself
thats impressive as hell, the chorus had me humming right along.
