Description:
I went to see Johnny Cash's movie "I walked the Line" a few hours ago (I loved it). I actually threw a tape to him on stage and he walked off with it in his hand when he preformed at a 4th of July fair one year near where I live.

So I wanted to show a picture with a line in it. As a tribute to his movie "I Walk The LIne".

But being that I think my tune has a speed feel to it. I thought why not try to have a picture like the one I picked out here. Number one there's lines, and number 2 there's speed.

Hardware:
2 mics and Betsy my acoustical Santa Cruz guitar.

Great way to start my day &mdash 11/21/05 - 11:13:31 AM
Another beautiful job by your talented and prolific self, Bill. I really enjoy
the controlled intensity of the energy of this piece and the subtle
orchestration you created. You threw in some unexpected chord changes
- these added to the flavor without calling too much attention to
themselves.

Very well written.

Betsy sounds absolutely lovely, as she always does.

soundtrack work for big money, this is a very fine acoustic piece.

Beautiful Guitar &mdash 11/22/05 - 02:36:55 PM
Amazing guitar sound (and playing). It reminds me of some of the great acoustic sounds Jimmy Page used to get, like "Bron-Yr-Aur". You've inspired me to look up Santa Cruz guitars.

Thanks for cluing me in on Bron-Yr-Aur, I heard it. like how he used the chorus
effect especially at the end of the piece.

Lovely piece of work Bill. You seem to do these so effortlessly, but so perfectly - In a more just world, you'd be making a bucket of money doing this.
Thanks, Neil

One of your best. &mdash 11/22/05 - 07:03:32 PM
I love how you're using instrumentation in your pieces these days. Not that your guitar can't stand on its own beautifully, but the aural landscape you've made here is just divine. This is going on my iPod for sure.

Dang it, Bill... &mdash 11/22/05 - 09:02:19 PM
Stop being flawless. Go beat up on Leo Kottke. He can handle it.

I'm running out of things to say.

Your recent experiments with orchestration continue to be really
interesting. They've never been bad, but I can hear you learning your way
around that neck of things more and more with time and practice.

Wow powerful - what out leo kottke and jimmy page! What type of mic's do you use?

I love the flute as well, and sound track behind.

How long have you been playing?

There are so many styles of guitar, such as jazz, flamenco, folk, classical but I
really appreciate your post.

I have played for decades, started out playing Beatles tunes, I guess I was
turned on to music by hearing Elvis Presley and those records in that time
period when i was very young.

Thanks for the comment about the orchestration, I really love doing that. I am
very glad that people enjoy that aspect of some of my compositions.

I use an MXL 2001 condenser mic (pointed towards the 12the fret and the
hole) and a Shure KSM 109 stick mic for treble (pointed towards the bridge).

Thanks for much
engler21 !

Exciting Energy &mdash 11/26/05 - 04:21:00 PM
I was reminded of the work of Keb' Mo, your piece contains personality. Uplifting without an elementary sound. I look forward to more of your work.

Astounding guitar work. You play beautifully, and create a mood and a
feeling that storms out of the speakers. Elegant, evocative, and just
downright sweet.
