Description:
elijah and i get up and hang before i have to go to work and it is a ritual that i would miss. i also just got drums on demand/county/alt collection. i love the songs of their samples. i have used them on the last few songs.

Lyrics:
the baby's up at five thirty every morning
it is his favorite time to play
i sit him on my lap
and we wrap up in a blanket
we bring on the brand new day
thats the way it is around here
thats the way it is most times
his toys fill baskets on the floor
the sun rises through the front door
my wife is sleeping
she will sleep till eight
sunday morning is my time to sleep late
cause we like to play
and we like to sing
we like to start everything
with a son watching a son watching the sun come up
juice
a blanket
a cup of coffee
i make some eggs
i through in some beans
i sit him in his chair in his farmer jeans
he watches me cook
he says cook da da cook
i love the way we are in the morning
oh, the way we are in the morning time
born in october
he is just over one year old
tiny little man
with my heart in his hand
hook line and sinker
im sold
line and sinker
im sold
thats the way it is around her
thats the way it is most times

My favorite since "baby makes the day" &mdash 11/21/05 - 02:53:24 PM
I'm afraid I have become a fan, which makes it hard for me to really
criticize your pieces. I will say the vocal sounds a little metallic and
tinny at times. EQ setting I guess? But, all in all, another fine tmcfate
tune. As I said in my email, this reminds me of the days when my own
son, also born in October, was in his farmer jeans. Years ago.

Nice song, Tim.

Morning music &mdash 11/22/05 - 07:05:23 AM
Adorable photo, I gotta say first. So bright eyed, alive, healthy, happy,
great color. A crib is a great place. I like the timing of your vocals on this
track, the rhythmic delivery. And nice chord changes. Juice, a blanket,
the smell of coffee. Mmmm. Thanks for the smiles, again.

I dig how you make your lives art.

again, solid songwriting &mdash 11/22/05 - 03:44:13 PM
I am a fan, too, just like atwood. But I'ml going to critique you anyway.
The mix still comes off as midrange-y to me. It also reminded me (in a
good way) of the Ass Ponys. The choice of sounds and instruments and
vocals is great. The separate guitar fills panned L and R are a good
idea, but kind of uneven in execution.

I love the kind of, oh I don't know, this combination of spontaneity and
heart that goes into the songs I've heard so far.

It seems to me your goal as an artist at the moment is to find that
balance between the genuineness/sponaneity you obviously care so
much about (and put across so well), and the attention and patience it
takes to refine the result (without getting tedious and sucking the life
out of what you're doing and making the recording sound corporate).
Easy to say. Tough to do.

Okay, my anal thing about posting lyrics. It really shouldn't matter, but
for me at least, if you paragraph the lyric to resemble the structure of
the song, it's easier for me to grasp. This lyric is just right, by the way.
All the lines are good. Some are great.

Her hero &mdash 11/23/05 - 05:46:22 AM
I never had kids. What a feeling it must be. You write superb lyrics. Your
voice has a sense of humor to it that propels you through the exhaustion
and trials of daily life, making you into an after work hero.

cool &mdash 11/24/05 - 12:22:15 AM
This makes me want to drink beer and dance in a smokey bar
while smoking. Good job. Like your choice in guitar tone and the
snare has a good sense of breath

good jam &mdash 12/03/05 - 09:13:58 PM
i was surprised when i saw the lyrics...i thought they were cheesy but
then you listen to the song and it is a simple story...cool. I would not
have thought of that; simple is always better. the production quality is
okay; much like i do when i am jamming not perfect but good enough
to get the picture. the drums sound good for sure for a package. the
guitars sit well and the tone fits the song style. the vocals sound a bit
like you are in a reverb trap and tinny...fun song.
