Description:
Soft jazz written especially for chikoppi's song contest. It's loopable, and it tries to stay out of the way of whatever voicover would be placed on top of it, without sacrificing a sense of melody. All instruments are Apple's.

Inwood is a park on the northern tip of Manhattan. It contains the only bit of indigenous forest left on the island, and eagles nest there.

Nice little ditty here. The Drums and Bass seem to be on the Right channel
only. Not sure if that was intentional.

I've put them pretty hard to the right on purpose. Piano and organ sit in the left channel. There's a little shaker action that sits left as well. Not sure how well it works, but there it is.

This is a very pretty piece. I can see it working well under a voice-over!
Very fitting for the holidays. Good luck!

Hard to comment... &mdash 11/28/05 - 08:12:56 PM
Chris, everything in this song is well done, in my opinion. What it lacks,
it really doesn't lack, because it is written to have the lead instrument
be the visuals and the voice-over. It would be much easier to comment
about this song if it were placed in its proper context.

Even then, since you wrote the piece with only a written description of
what it is to accompany, and a vague one at that, you still wouldn't be
getting a fair hearing unless you could have seen the video first, or at
least had a very detailed idea of the visuals.

All of that aside, this is a skillfully executed piece of music, with a tasty
arrangement (I espesh like the organ). You may well soon have your
song collection expand by a hundred...

simply beautiful ..... &mdash 12/06/05 - 05:39:44 PM
and evocative arrangement. I agree with the comments about the panning - easily remedied- but otherwise most excellent

Thanks for commenting. I think I'll have to remix this puppy when I get a little more time. So many comments about the panning.

Thanks, and thanks for stopping by. Glad you liked the piece. I swear I'm gonna get it remixed one of these days. Stupid "life" getting in the way of my music making fun.

A musical landscape. &mdash 02/22/06 - 11:38:23 PM
It's like I get the softness and calm of New York under a blanket of snow, without having to deal with the slush afterwards. I don't know what the contest was about but this is a sweet and fun piece that I really enjoyed.
