Famous Uncle Sam Pose (rough demo)

[Explicit]

Description
This is a little song that's been floating around a while. I now have two mics so slapped it down in one shaky take, accoustic and voice.
I'd anticipated recording it properly this weekend but was not allowed to 'make noise' in the house so thought I'd just place layers using quiet electric instruments on what I had to get a rough idea of how it might eventually sound. Sadly I ended up having less than an hour of studio time, so have to leave in all the shoddy improvised takes.

Lyrics
D Am7
Tony Blair wants you
Cmaj7 G
For the United States army
D Am7
Adopting the famous Uncle Sam pose
Cmaj7 G
He's wagging his finger at you
D
From off of a poster
A
Determined to toast you

Em
You could quit your dead end job
C G
Get a paid-for education
Em
Lose a few pounds and get fit
C G
On an adventure vacation
D
Til you get called to action
Asus2/A
Watch your family's reaction

Cos Tony Blair wants you
For the United States Army
On a jolly planned in Iran
Now persian boots are quaking
Waiting for you boys
It's time to down toys

You could die a meaningless death
And they won't tell you why
'Died securing an oil supply'
Until the well turns dry
And we're all buggered anyway
What a pointless price to pay

And Tony Blair wants you
For the United States Army
His famous fixed grin grows
More menacing by the day
And he don't give up easily
Clings to power so weasily

Tony tony blair wants you..

Fantastic singing...
... this is really beautiful delivery 'topo. Really nice chord sequence for
the melody as well. I really like the gentle piano with it too... The mix is
a little strange; the voice sort of fades out before the end - which I'm
not sure is what you.. ah, intended. And could the solo guitar be mixed
in a bit more? At times it seems a bit too loud in my headphones and
distracts from the vocal line.

I don't think the whole track is here
On the ending: I don't think the entire mp3 has uploaded, so it
suddenly ends. The elements of the track kind of fade out one by one
leaving the stark piano chords only.

Oh well - it was only a rough demo and has we're talking about 15
seconds I'll leave the song up.

Mando is right about the guitar. There's an accoustic and an electric.
The electric part is all one take alternating between a jangly line and
the twangy lead bits. The lead line should be on a separate track so
they can be dealt with separately.

Also, I'm learning a little more about how to use reverb in the mix. It's
easy to get soupy. Here the strummed/picked accoustic part seems
lost due to this.

El-TOP!
Great stuff, I really like the song, lyrics and music are both
excellent...really confident vocal performance too. Ends a bit suddenly
though.
let's have some more tunes soon please!

Good tune!
Like the lyrics on this one, and together with the jolly melody it makes a good sound. Yes, its a shame that the hole song didnt upload, but thats not a big deal! Good stuff!
